In the framework of the establishment of the EU Knowledge Hub on prevention of radicalisation, we are compiling a list of national experts– the "Expert database". By joining this list, national experts will have the opportunity to participate in the work and activities of the EU Knowledge Hub.
The platform accommodates three types of experts:
- Policy makers work for an administration and can represent their Member State in meetings, notably the Project Based Collaborations.
- Practitioners are front line practitioners working directly with individuals who are radicalised or at risk (teachers, youth workers, mental health professionals, etc)
- Researchers should have a PhD in a field related to PCVE and might be requested to provide their insights for evidence-based policy recommendations, contribute to foresight scenarios and in-depth studies.
Application submission for the expert database is possible via a dedicated EU survey form, in which users must submit information about their professional background. Based on this information, the knowledge hub team will evaluate all submissions and establish whether each applicant is deemed relevant. Upon being approved, each applicant will be invited from within the system, after which they receive a direct invitation for joining the database.

Both practitioners and researchers can be contacted to deliver a Tailor Made Support Sservice (a consultancy), a study visit, a training or to draft a paper (if they have ticked the box in their application to share their data). They can receive a remuneration for their services to a Member State.
Applicants can only register to one profile. It is up to the candidate to make a decision under which profile they wish to register, knowing that Policy makers need to be approved by their hierarchy before included on the expert database. They should also be appointed to attend Knowledge Hub meetings with the approval of their hierarchy. We count at least 2 weeks, in order to process the applications, verify the eligibility of the profiles, and checking with the respective national authorities. Please be aware that in periods of holidays or intense workload, this may last a bit longer.
We suggest you reach out to your NPPM, in the event where you don’t know the person, register as a practitioner and mention in your application that you would be interested to be a policy maker. In the meantime, you can apply on an individual basis (mentioning that you do not represent your Member State). You will have more limited options, but you can access practitioners’ events, trainings, and other materials of the KH Community.
