Topped up on Monday on the €7.99 plan.Cant make calls. Waste of time trying to get through to customer services.Time to try a new provider
A poor rating, in the 5 years I have been a customer I have never had roaming work abroad. No WiFi calling and poor coverage in my home . Only stayed because I had a 7.99 deal, but it’s time to roam in peace, I’m off to a good provider.
I have been with them for many years, attracted by the 7.99/month cost. It has always been a horrible service, abroad I cannot get the data service to work efficiently and even in Ireland I cannot receive calls most of the times and they have never been able to fix the issue. I have changed the physical SIM card a couple of times, but the problem never went away. It is a disgrace, because at the same price I have a foreign SIM card, and it works like a charm. I will have to switch to another provider, unfortunately, and pay the rip off prices that Ireland offers.

Rewards Scam
I have been a customer for over a couple of years but today was the last straw. I tried to use my rewards link to obtain the free credit and a €10 Penney’s voucher for myself and a friend. I sent the link to my friend but it wouldn’t work. I then spent an hour and a half with two of their chat employees. One of which told my friend to set up an account anyways. My friend said we wouldn’t get the rewards if they did that. They then said to send another code. Again, I explained that the code is linked to my account and it remains the same, irrespective of who I send it to. Eventually, they told me the code doesn’t work and it will take up to 10 working days to investigate. This is not the first time this has happened. It happened last year but I didn’t bother to investigate it at the time. Furthermore, when you need to send a text to the PTSB, it won’t send because 48.ie thinks you are texting a premium service. They have now lost a customer and a potential one because of their extremely poor service.

Terrible
I have been with 48 for 3 weeks and the service is terrible, the phone is constantly dropping the data connection, totally unusable.

Roaming doesn't work
When in Ireland, everything works well. We went abroad in Europe and didn't have any reception. We tried all troubleshooting steps and nothing worked. We not only had to buy a third party SIM card but it ruined the holiday. The support is robotic, has poor English skills and doesn't even understand simple questions. They sent me a semi-sarcastic, standard "apology". If you want a reliable service while travelling, this is not the carrier for you. Also, I recruited someone to 48, only to learn that Uber Eats does not deliver to my town, so I had to forfeit the bonus/it expired. They also had the same experience with Roaming. Lesson learned.

It only works smooth in Ireland
It only works smooth in Ireland. Please don’t use it for travel, I can make calls but there is no access to internet. In todays age with online shopping, checkin, booking is pretty useless. Thank god I have two phones so I can hotspot from my vodafone 🥵

I have been with 48 for about three years on the very keen €7.99 pm. My data/voice roaming has never worked. The technical team have failed to solve the problem. I have been to Northern Ireland, Spain, Italy, Bulgaria, Greece and not a shred of coverage did I have.
Also, the final straw for me was this week when I got cut off when their auto-renew function failed. No warning or grace period. Just cut off. No voice or data despite this being their error. I was left without any service for nearly 12 hours. I will find a new provider soon.

Just a simple great service
Just a simple great service, calls, texts unlimited data, mostly on 5g . One simple payment of €12.99 per month, what could you possibly no like about this? Im with 48 for over six years as are all of my family and friends. Ok you do need to read the instructions when going abroad, but what do people expect thinking that each country are the same when it comes their mobile networks. The people here who are giving one star should have have read the instructions, have bank problems before they signed up to 48 we have had no problems and any Ive heard of have been sorted out with no problems, fools and their money are easily parted , so if you cant read and cant do online bank or shopping stay with your overpriced provider.

Bank declined one month payment due to freezing my account for possibly fraud activity. My service was immediately stopped and though I paid 30 euro into my account my service has not been returned. I have tried to renew my monthly subscription but 48 is blocking me everytime. So frustrated I am looking at other companies

So far so good.
So far, (3 weeks in) it is,what it says on the tin. Haven't used roaming yet but within Ireland, speed is good, no data or calls dropped. It's on the 3 network and it just seems to work. It was easy to set up, sim arrived within 5 days, phone was previously on 3 network so no unlocking required. Based on my experience so far, I'm not sure how the negative reviews are warranted. We'll see how it performs over the coming months but pretty impressed so far.

Dirt
I only gave them one star because I cant select lower.
Stay away from this shower of gangsters.
They somehow managed to pay for someone elses account with my card and refused to give a refund. The two agents I dealt with were the most horrible people I ever dealt with.
They told me initially that they would refund me, then to do a charge back - which I couldnt do because it was passed the visa rules. Then they told me to contact the person directly. Then they stopped replying to me. Absolutely horrible.

Good quality of Internet and calls
Good quality of Internet and calls. Good price for service. Live support chat is very useful and quiet quick to response. The only one bad thing - app for the IOS. It's pretty laggy.

48 cannot fix issues if occured
If there was a zero star rating thats what I would give 48..just came back from EU and nothing worked..didn't even work when I flew into Dublin..got onto a so called customer care desk..no call just typing the answer..he/she asked if I could try my sim card on another device...omg...this is run by a group of dopes..if worked on your phone abroad then you must have an old phone...do not change to 48 if you are to go abroad as you may be left lost, without directions is not ideal.

Stick to a phone company with a store
Stick to a phone company with a store - took weeks for the sim to arrive (meanwhile I was paying high pay as you go rates as you need to get off your previous plan to port). The number never ported, I was told there was an 'error'. Wish I had just paid the extra $ for a phone company with a store that could get it sorted asap as I've paid the difference 10 times over at this point.
