We've been using Pitpat for a week now. We have found that it is very reliable in tracking our border collie if we use the starting a walk feature, which tracks the dog throughout the walk. We live in a hilly rural area and the GPS signal is fairly weak but it is sufficient to track our dog. It does mean that we are charging the device every 3 days but that's not a problem as it can be charged overnight. It is reassuring to know that if our dog should get spooked by something when off lead we will know where he is.

Fast charging and easy to load and connect to iphone. Problems start when trying to connect pitpat to satellite. Even when 4G and 5G signals arrive at good to maximum strength in my phone the Pitpat unit tells me that it has failed to connect to a satellite. When it does work it works well but when it doesn’t connect it’s really just an expensive collar ornament. I’m happy to revise my opinion if I’m corrected but at the moment I obviously don’t understand how the unit is supposed to work or it only works sometimes.

I bought the PitPat in Italy on Amazon.it. I travel regularly by road between UK and Italy with my dog. It has never worked convincingly in any location in any country, even when cellular coverage is good and all my other GPS gadgets function perfectly (iphone, smart watch, sat nav etc). When it occasionally connects, it is slow, inaccurate and not in real-time. On top of this, even though I bought it in Italy but registered it as UK, the live tracking and other App-based don’t appear to be available. I have tried to contact PitPat by email to no avail. After several months, I have now given up with it and am researching alternatives. I have actively discouraged many dog owners from buying one.

Excellent company. Very response to any issue you might have. For example, lost Pit Pat, replaced free of charge once a year, or needing new Velcros? sent out the same day.

About PitPat

Written by the company

PitPat is a pet wellness company that creates products and services to support and inspire pet parents to keep their dogs, happy, healthy and safe.

PitPat began because we recognised that our relationship with dogs has changed.

The traditional animal-owner relationship does not apply.

Dogs are no longer possessions but a member of the family and we’re no longer owners but pet parents.

Naturally, we want to keep them happy, healthy and safe by giving them the best care possible. But with so much to consider and so much conflicting and contradictory advice, pet parents are overwhelmed.

That’s where PitPat comes in. We take away the guesswork and give pet parents the confidence to know they’re doing the right thing for their dog.

Our connected world means we’re there for pet parents through every step of their dog’s life.

We're removing the guesswork with propositions that inform, inspire and support pet parents to make better, more individual choices, that improve the lives of not only their pets but all pets.

  • Reliable GPS tracking with no subscription
  • Food that’s good for you, good for your dog and good for the planet
  • Uncomplicated Insurance that rewards healthy dogs
  • Affordable activity monitoring to keep your dog healthy

So don’t worry pet parents, we got you!

What's the bigger picture?

Well, one day, we see a future where having a little device on your dog’s collar that helps you look after them better will be the norm.

We see a world where pet care is active not passive, proactive not reactive and individual not general.

Need more convincing?

The population-level insights we’re gathering from the hundreds of thousands of dogs that have already joined us are going to completely revolutionise pet care. So having a PitPat doesn’t just benefit your dog but all dogs!

Hello Kevin

Thank you for the review.

I'm glad that you are enjoying using the PitPat and I'd be happy to look into the connectivity issues for you.

Did you know we have a feature within the app called Start A Walk? This will ask your PitPat to wake up and begin live-tracking your dog. Once live-tracking has begun, you'll be able to find your dog almost immediately for the next three hours. Just remember to End A Walk when you return to save the battery.

We are always happy to investigate further and check the network coverage in your area. Please email us if needed at help@pitpat.com

Hello Paul

Thank you for your review.

I'm sorry that you are experiencing issues with your GPS tracker. The live-tracking feature is available to all our customers with a GPS tracker and with a tracker that is in contact with HQ. We have roaming agreements with various different network providers to ensure our customers receive the best and more accurate experience when live-tracking.

I have checked back through our emails and I can see you emailed us in June and we sent a reply back within 24 hours. Unfortunately, sometimes our replies end up in the junk/spam folder.

If you would like us to look into this further, please reach out again at help@pitpat.com

Very good

Not used in anger yet, but tested when out for a Walk with my dog. Seemed to track accuratley, the dial needle and distance is a good feature. App easy to use, the actual GPS tracker is light and easy to re-fit between my dogs coat and harness using the supplied velcro. So far no complaints

Activity monitor & trac/ker

Had one of the original walk pit pat. This new version takes it to the next level! Not only will it tell you the activity of your pet, but if the unthinkable happens, it can now track your pet..NO EXTRA FEEF REQUIRED!! For me, this a must, an essential piece of kit , both for you and your pet. I love mine and I think you will too.

The PitPat tracker gives us great peace…

The PitPat tracker gives us great peace of mind as the Cocker Spaniel can run for great distance. Since moving to the countryside there's lots of temptation to chase. By using her location on the app we can retrieve her with much less stress.
We purchased the tracker a few months ago and used it everyday. It holds it's charge, it's been through streams and thick mud and proved to be resilient and efficient.
Excellent purchase.
