Crying laughing at Jackie’s review and also the review at Colchester 😂 if they told you to p**s off I imagine you probably behaved in a way to deserve it. Went into a branch recently and the way the customers are treating staff is appalling. No “are you ok? “How are you doing? Just callously walking up to staff and blurting out “when are you closing?

Really feel for the staff. All the customers giving 1 star reviews should be ashamed of themselves. Obviously dragged up and not taught any humility and decency growing up.

The staff are excellent and there's some brilliant bargains in the administration sale. The prices are sometimes cheaper than what's stated on the ticket also.

However, Whilst I appreciate it's a
DIY store, it isn't very clean and my hands were black when I left.

Some of the stock had clearly been there for some time and I noticed items that had a 'use by' date of early 2020! - nearly 5 years ago. It makes it clear to see why the business has failed to be honest.

Spot on service as usual.. such a shame Homebase is closing… local store staff are great, they have been let down by the “suits in the offices as per usual.. prices are high yes compared to rivals but the staff have imho always gone the extra mile to sort issues out… and yes I used to work in retail with 30 years experience.. if I see good service I tell them, conversely ditto on bad and I have never had to moan about Homebase floor staff.. management yes which luckily the CEO sorted out.

Bought a light up reindeer and sleigh…

Bought a light up reindeer and sleigh (not cheap). Looked amazing to begin with, after two days the lights no longer work. I reached out to Homebase customer service for support on the faulty item only to be told there is nothing they can do and I won’t get a refund. Complete waste of money and poor customer service. Appalling.

Well Tracey at Homebase Stamford an amazing human being helpful understanding polite we need more people like her in the world and all the staff were very nice and friendly.

On the downside we visited the Huntingdon store and we’re verbally abused by the manager not willing to listen or help or even understand our issues he was that rude we contemplated calling the police disgusting behaviour from the store manager.

Bought online a bathroom cabinet…

Bought online a bathroom cabinet advertised as solid wood, it arrived in a large un damaged box, well packaged inside but when removed from the box it was badly damaged indicating it was damaged before packaging, also it was MDF not solid wood, when i phoned up to report the damage, i was told all returns and deliveries had been suspended as the company had GONE INTO ADMINISTRATION,,no refund, A waste of £50.00, ended up putting it in the bin as it was unfit for purpose !! My advice, DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING!!!!

Great till the end

Great till the end. Despite being made redundant the staff were helpful polite efficient. They're doing a fantastic job despite some customers tearing their heads off verbally as either the discounts aren't enough or the zero returns policy. Neither are the staffs fault they're doing their very best in grim times and all suffering fear of the future in terms of work and finance esp in a cost of living crisis. We add to. Their burden and make their smile harder while their already struggling enough. I saw one man in distress in Catford homebase because of a customer I'm sure we can be kinder.

Homebase I'll miss it I've spent alot of money in it because I like the shop the parking, the ethos the ability to see what I'm buying to make an informed choice when I choose my stuff and the ability to touch. I hate that we're working to a cashless long distance relationship with our shopping. I imagine homebase will appear online. The items I bought today as usual were in great condition. I didn't get much discount but I got what I wanted so was happy. The girl serving looked interested she was personable and dressed in seasonal wear which despite how she must be feeling was a lovely thing to see. I'm very greatful
Hate to see you go Homebase
