Hi everyone

Hi everyone. Don't sign up with Medicare. They come across as though they are affiliated with many doctors and hospitals but the truth is they not. The entire HPA group wants nothing to do with them, just to mention one group. Don't fall fir their lies. Also it is a problem to try cancel with them. Stay away from this company.

Requested a cancellation. They are playing with us.

I am writing to formally address our statement concerning the termination of the contract scheduled to conclude at the end of January 2025.

Background and Previous Attempts
I wish to remind you that in [January/2024], we contacted your office by phone to terminate the contract. However, we were informed by the operator that the request was submitted too late. Consequently, we were obligated to continue payments for another year, despite not utilizing your services.

On November 13, 2024, at 10:00 AM, we once again reached out to request the cancellation of the contract. Regrettably, instead of processing our cancellation request, your representative attempted to persuade us to extend the agreement and subsequently stated that a manager would follow up with us regarding this matter.

Concerns About Compliance with Applicable Laws
Your handling of this matter raises significant concerns about its compliance with legal requirements, particularly regarding fair consumer practices. Under Directive 2011/83/EU on Consumer Rights, consumers have a clear right to withdraw from or terminate contracts under fair and transparent conditions.

Despite being fully aware of our preference for English communication, your representatives have contacted us three times in Portuguese. On each occasion, we explicitly requested a brief pause to arrange for an interpreter, but the calls were prematurely disconnected by your representatives. This conduct contravenes Article 3(1) of the EU Charter of Fundamental Rights, which upholds the right to effective communication and non-discrimination, as well as local consumer protection laws under Portuguese law, such as Decree-Law No. 24/2014 regarding consumer rights in contracts.

Further Legal and Administrative Actions
I must inform you that we are in contact with legal counsel who is already reviewing the situation.

Request for Immediate Action
We demand the immediate termination of the contract in accordance with Article 9 of Directive 2011/83/EU, which permits consumers to cancel service agreements under reasonable conditions.

The reasons for this termination request are as follows:

Financial Constraints: We no longer have the means to continue payments.
Service Dissatisfaction: We are dissatisfied with the quality of the services provided.
Previous Request: A cancellation request was submitted last year but was unreasonably denied.
Next Steps
Please provide written confirmation of the cancellation immediately. Be advised that any delay in compliance may compel us to escalate this matter further, including formal complaints to regulatory authorities such as DECO (Portuguese Consumer Rights Organization), Standard Trading, and the European Commission’s Consumer Rights Enforcement.

Thank you for your immediate attention to this matter. We trust you will address this issue in accordance with applicable laws to avoid unnecessary escalation.

scammer!

scammer!!
They call you and tell you to use there free service then it will automatically keep renewing yearly. then when you notice after 10 years and ask them to cancel them they will say pay all 10 years money first. they are scammer.

Worst services ever!!!

Worst services ever!!!
We waited for a call back from a doctor and it never happened. I then email them to cancel my contract but nothing is happening and they only speak english to onboard you after that you are on your own!!! Very bad customer service

Absolutely horrible customer service!!!

Absolutely horrible customer service!!!
We signed up for Medicare while we were waiting to get our family Dr assigned to us and once we had then we no longer required the service.
We called to cancel 3 days before the annual renewal as per their policy and instead the agent renewed our contract.
We called back immediately after receiving a renewal email to cancel and the customer service agent said that we have no choice but to keep the subscription😡
We were told that “you can cancel the membership but you’ll still be paying until 2025�
Issue still not resolved.
Horrible business conduct.
DO NOT sign up for this service.

We are well aware of the conditions as per the contract and followed MediCare guidelines by requesting a cancellation prior to renewal date; your team member renewed the contract instead of cancelling it.

And yes, we provided the proper information to authentic who we are as a client and are very well aware that the calls are being recorded which is where you’ll find that the fault was with MediCare.

Do not choose this company

I wish I'd read the reviews beforehand, this company is really shameless and a scam. Got told today it's not even an insurance but a "healthplan" when I was trying to use my "platinum Medicare card" for the 3rd time since I got it and got disappointed yet again. It's sounded great on the phone, all these free things you'll get and covered for everything, but in the end you end up having to pay more with the insurance than if you didn't have one at all! It's horrible. The customer support is a bunch of robots and most of them are even rude. It's a scam company. Do not agree to anything with them. Do your research and choose another company!
Ps, Medicare "red-flagged" my previous comment cause it might be harmful to their business. YOU are harmful to people trying to get affordable healthcare. Shame on you!

Shocked with customer service

I am customer of medicare nearby one year.Suddenly i have problem with my bank account and i close that account open new one,i try to change through app but i couldn’t change for direct debit.Secondly i drop email to customer care that i have problem to pay my money to Medicare wanted to connect new bank account to Medicare,I have reply ring to customer care.I rung to customer care twice the answer was “no speak english someone call you back who speaks english�.Completely understood about not to speak language but i couldn’t understand how poor the service.2 months for struggle to change my bank account no-one bother to take money or no one bother to ring me who speaks english.I completely shocked how big the company and how poor the service.I have to go to doctor and my card my be not active so whats the point to have medicare if you have emergency.

SCAMMERS! BEWARE

I did 1 star only because i have to do it, this is not an insurance but a (scammers call center) calling and disappoint people with SPAM calls, beware of them, they are scammers, they called me with a spam number to test their insurance services for free, they promised me to get a free dentist consultation, cleaning and dental extracting for free and they repeat for free, (but the condition is to go ask a dentist in their network), when i went there, the dentist asked me wich insurance i have (i said Medicare) and then she told me to get back to them after 10 days. When i went back The dentist said if i want the free services when the dentist finished ONLY CLEANING, they forced me to pay 39€.

After, I received a call from Medicare asking my invoice to get reimbursement, And then they called with a different phone number saying we will not reimburse you!!!!!

They pickpocket and scam patients and get commission from Dentists!!!!!!

ABSOLUTE SHAMEFUL SCAM

A Medicare persegue-nos

Cancelei a Medicare porque ninguém lá fala inglês. A Medicare está a assediar o meu marido (que é português) várias vezes por dia com chamadas de publicidade para renovar o MEU CONTRATO, apesar de ele já ter dito várias vezes que não quer receber mais chamadas e que a Medicare devia telefonar-me pessoalmente e falar comigo em inglês. A Medicare não pára com estas chamadas e não me telefona. Continuaremos a queixar-nos e não recomendaremos a Medicare a ninguém se não pararem com isto. Isto é assédio!

I canceled Medicare because no one there speaks English. Medicare is harassing my husband (he is Portuguese) several times a day with calls from advertisements to renew MY CONTRACT even though he has said several times he does not want to receive any more calls and wants Medicare to call me personally and speak to me in English. Medicare does not stop these calls and does not call me. We will continue to complain and will not recommend Medicare to anyone if you don't stop this. This is harassment!

roubo à luz do dia

When i signed up everything was explained to me in english as i did not speak Portuguese. I would like you to find the call recording where the consultant told me that this was a 12 month contract which was auto renewed every year. I never use this medical aid because nothing i need is covered and the dentist you have on the plan is so bad and shouldn't even have a license. If you can prove to me i was told about this i will have no choice but to pay even though this is robbery!

Quando me inscrevi, tudo me foi explicado em inglês, pois eu não falava português. Gostaria que encontrassem a gravação da chamada em que o consultor me disse que se tratava de um contrato de 12 meses que era renovado automaticamente todos os anos. Nunca utilizo esta assistência médica porque nada do que preciso está coberto e o dentista que têm no plano é muito mau e nem sequer devia ter licença. Se me puderem provar que fui informado disto, não terei outra alternativa senão pagar, apesar de isto ser um roubo!

Medicare sux

Medicare sux! I tried to file a complaint and that's a joke to because it wouldn't go through stating I had over 1500 characters. I finally got it to one sentence and it still wouldn't go through. Medicare has set it up so they don't have to hear about horrible they are and how terrible they treat their customers. I guess they think we have no choice in it because it's medicare but mark my words, someone will pay for it! I hope you people who work for Medicare lose your jobs and have to get state or federal funding to help you and then you'll see how it feels! USA has gone to SH**!!!

Scam company

Scam company. I have medical emergency I told them I need to see doctor they said it will take 2 days to book an appointment. And even to send email it takes 2 days . Their staff behaviour is so ridiculous rude 😤. And disrespectful.

They have called me over 10 times in the last week, ranging from 10am to 11pm, I have already explained that I am not interested in their insurance yet they keep on calling

THEY ARE JUST A BUNCH OF SCAMMERS TRYING TO STEAL PEOPLE'S MONEY.
THEY TOLD US WE CAN STOP AT ANY TIME, WHICH WE DID ONCE WE FOUND OUT THEY ARE A FRAUD, BUT THEY ARE STILL ASKING FOR OUR MONEY SAYING WE HAVE DEBT.
