EDIT: RESOLVED by server update! Broken Two-Factor Authentication via Nextcloud notification?

Generally, this app works great; it is one of the bases upon which Nextcloud integrates so well with iOS, including accessing and, with the right server setup, even editing many file types from right within the app. With the 4.9.2 release however, Two-Factor Authentication via Nextcloud notification temporarily stopped working with the iOS app. Resetting the app didn’t restore functionality, and removing/reinstalling the app didn’t either. Neither did removing/reinstallling the Two-Factor Authentication via Nextcloud notification (version 3.8.0) on the Nextcloud server itself (version 27.1.3; UPDATE: BUT SEE BELOW!). This functionality worked fine in the iOS app version 4.9.1. Other logged-in clients (besides iOS) continued to receive such notifications & affect new client logins to Nextcloud successfully.
UPDATE: This issue was resolved not by an iOS app update, but by an upgrade of the server to 27.1.4. This is a great example of the integration to their system that Nextcloud is always working on, and returns my review to five stars!
Otherwise, great app & I look forward to updates & generally where the app is going. Thanks!

Works really good, now I prefer Nextcloud over Dropbox and Box

When Dropbox lowered device limit to 3, I had been thinking about switching over but was hesitant at first due to modest reviews. And when Google Photos changed their terms, that’s when I said that’s enough. I’m glad I moved over (in 2021) because the system is rock solid. Used it for several months and no issues at all, and syncing across many devices as I need both Mac and PC laptop/desktop for work. And also for wife. And soon, for my kids. I still keep Dropbox for sharing video publicly (they seem to do this best) and others too, but with unlimited storage, no subscription fee (other than server cost), privacy and robust tech, what’s not to like?

HEIC support still broken as of Oct 2024

I setup a self hosted Nextcloud server at home and have been using this app to backup photos and videos on my iPhone the past few years to my server. The app and host software have been somewhat unreliable but work okay until they don't. Being "free" cloud storage that I manage, I'm willing to accept the eccentricities for the most part and have continued to use it the past free years, but I'm no software developer.

However recently I think with the iOS 17 or 18 update, HEIC support broke within nextcloud on the server side. You can still backup HEIC files, but you can no longer view them as photos via the app and preview thumbnails no longer generate. Seeing as HEIC is the standard format for millions of iOS devices out there I don't see why it's taken so long to fix. The nextcloud developers don't seem to be in any hurry to fix this issue. Not sure what else to do other than wait since I'm not a docker software developer and can't fix it myself.
