Description

APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Source, select, and qualify suppliers for components and materials used in Apple’s technology and products, such as memory, analog ICs, and discrete silicon components. Investigate alternate component technologies or materials to reduce cost and improve quality and reliability in Apple’s technology and products. Act as the technical interface between component suppliers and development engineers, enabling new and alternate sources for new feature enablement, supply risk mitigation, and cost savings. Develop a nuanced understanding of Board Electrical commodity landscapes to forecast industry trends and gauge emerging competitive forces. Identify buyer and supplier dynamics changes within Board Electrical markets and leverage competitive dynamics to Apple's advantage. Interface with suppliers to negotiate optimal terms for sourcing silicon-based electrical components. Understand the tradeoffs between cost, volume, and quality to strike agreements that meet Apple's performance criteria and secure supply continuity to meet engineering specifications and end customer demand. Optimize global supply chain performance through cost and scenario analysis and benchmarking. Develop an in-depth understanding of value-added manufacturing processes and costs, reverse logistics, and market intelligence to influence Apple’s future product roadmap and sourcing decisions. Manage global supply chain disruptions in real-time with the support of an international team. Handle demand and forecast management across business lines and work with suppliers to resolve supply shortages. International travel required 5%. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $151,200 - $227,600/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Marketing, Business Management, Operations Research or related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
  • 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required:
  • Using Excel or Tableau to manage complex data, analyze, and derive conclusions from complex datasets with thousands of part-program-site combinations for cost modeling, vendor strategy creation, and price negotiation
  • Initiating, negotiating, and executing vendor contracts such as MDSAs, ARPAs, SOWs, and Environmental agreements
  • Designing, reviewing, and executing sourcing strategy for the assigned commodity, including vendor selection, technical roadmap review, NPI qualification strategy, negotiation leverage identification, and allocation strategy
  • Conducting Demand / Supply forecasting to build business cases around vendor capacity planning, CapEx justification, and Last Time Buy estimation
  • Developing RFP/RFQ Strategy that incorporates a complete portfolio within and outside Board Electrical space
  • Performing Should Cost Modeling for benchmarking current prices and identifying levers to improve cost structure
  • Conducting Inventory Management to strike the right balance between buffer stock to absorb demand fluctuations while minimizing the risk of lifetime excess inventory
