Apple is a place where extraordinary people gather to do their best work. Together we create products and experiences people once couldn’t have envisioned — and now can’t imagine living without. If you’re excited by the idea of making an impact, joining a team where we pride ourselves in being one of the most diverse and expansive companies in the world, a career with Apple might be your dream job. Quite simply, our team keeps Apple’s world-class networks running. We are a global community of engineers who work together to operate a multi-vendor network that both interconnects Apple’s various sites together — offices, larger campuses, and data centres. However, we also help manage the connectivity with many of the world’s network service providers that enables Apple to be deeply connected to the Internet. This position provides the opportunity to explore a cutting-edge network of enormous scope, variety and scale. From single ethernet connections to individual machines, via large campus-scale wireless deployments, to multi-terabit transcontinental optical fibre systems, Apple’s network offers a rich diversity of opportunity to gain the expertise that will make you a skilled network engineer — all you need is insatiable curiosity.

Description

During these 3-month internship commencing in June, you will join a team that supports Apple’s network, both in a reactive way, responding quickly to unplanned events, as well as in a proactive way, making planned changes that will prevent potential issues from occurring. Under the guidance of your mentors, your growth will be directed and you will work on problems of increasing complexity as your own knowledge builds. Before you know it, you will be the mentor for the next generation of network engineers! While this position requires an aptitude in a relevant discipline, e.g. computer science, mathematics or engineering, above all we value teamwork and collaboration. Our team is spread around the globe, so you will interact with many nationalities and cultures — this diversity is one of our key strengths and makes for an exceptionally open, welcoming and friendly work environment. We will want you to draw on your strong interpersonal skills and benefit from the dynamic nature of Apple’s environment. If you enjoy close collaboration, open and active discussion, and following through on the details, we think you’ll love being part of our team.
