#DLT4Good Scanning

Data exploration tool to support anticipatory policy-making on Distributed Ledger Technologies (DLTs) for social and public good.

This scanning was developed as part of the project #DLT4Good: Co-creating a European Ecosystem of DLTs for Social and Public Good. It aggregates primary research, conducted through expert and stakeholder outreach, with secondary data sources, to increase the scope, diversity, and robustness of information for forward-looking decision-making.

The #DLT4Good Scanning tool is complementary to the information presented in the Science for Policy Report ‘Scanning the European Ecosystem of Distributed Ledger Technologies for Social and Public Good’.

Explore the #DLT4Good Scanning tool:

  • Consult our database for information on 131 DLT and blockchain projects for social and public good in Europe. You can narrow down your search by selecting country, sector, or application.
  • Review statistical trends and organisational patterns of all these projects, in Chapter 3 of the report.
  • Take a closer look into 10 DLT and blockchain projects selected to showcase diversity in the field, in Chapter 4 of the report.

The #DLT4Good Scanning tool:

  • Offers a quantitative overview and a closer qualitative look of DLT projects targeting social and public good objectives, in a dynamic but diffuse European innovation ecosystem of organisations, applications and more;
  • Provides a robust building block for an anticipatory assessment of this field, and puts forward a multidisciplinary approach to DLTs and the trends shaping its future for social and public good;
  • Lays down an evidence-based foundation for vision building and a strategic intelligence capacity on alternative uses of DLTs, taking into account new policy formulation and funding mechanisms.

Help to extend the #DLT4Good Scanning by adding your project here. Projects are reviewed before eventual publication.

No results of this scanning can be interpreted as representative in relation to larger European or global ecosystems of DLT initiatives, organisations, projects, applications, and use cases.

All efforts were made to ensure data accuracy and completeness at the time of collection and analysis. No guarantee is given in any circumstance, nor do we warrant external elements, such as project webpages or code repositories.

Any reference to projects, organisations, activities, products, services, and related technical, economic and governance configurations, does not imply endorsement or recommendation for any purpose. The European Commission, its departments, or any person acting on their behalf, take no responsibility for any use that might be made of the information presented in this tool.

A methodological outline of the scanning can be consulted in Chapter 3.1 of the report.
