Brief me
Futures literacy helps people understand why and how we use the future to prepare, plan, and interact with the complexity and novelty of our societies. In the context of EU policy making, futures literacy is one of the crosscutting competencies for innovative policymaking.
Being futures literate is essential for embedding foresight into policy making. It equips policy makers to take informed, future-oriented decisions.
The Competence Centre on Foresight offers trainings, engagement tools and practices to develop skills and competences to foster futures literacy. In addition, we conduct a variety of participative foresight projects to engage policymakers, stakeholders and other citizens in futures thinking.
