Did you know that every six months, a different EU country holds the presidency of the Council of the European Union? From the start of January until June 2025, it is Poland’s turn to take this important responsibility.
Essentially, this means Poland will organise the meetings of the countries’ leaders and suggest the topics on which they would like the EU to make progress.
Poland has set seven priority areas under the motto "Security, Europe!":
- Defence and security
- Protection of people and borders
- Resistance to foreign interference and disinformation
- Ensuring security and freedom of business
- Energy transition
- Competitive and resilient agriculture
- Health security
