Get a Library Card (Non-Temple)
If you are a current faculty, student or staff at Temple University your Temple ID serves as your library card.
Community computer users
You can apply for a Community Computer User card by visiting the One Stop Assistance Desk in Charles Library.
You will need to bring with you a valid government issued photo ID, showing that you are at least 18 years old. The library staff will have you fill out a short application, which requires you to have an email address, and they will make a photocopy of your ID.
Your application will be reviewed and if approved your card will be ready for pick up at the One Stop Assistance Desk within two weeks.
Your Community Computers User card will allow you to log yourself onto one of our 12 community computers for two hours each day. You will also have access to charging stations, limited courtesy printing, and scanning.

If you want to use a computer at the Ambler Library, you must speak to library staff. You will be required to follow the policy for Entrance to the University Libraries.
PA Residents
You can apply for a PA Residents borrowing card by visiting the One Stop Assistance Desk in Charles Library.
You will need to bring with you a valid PHL City ID or Pennsylvania State issued photo ID, showing that you are at least 18 years old. The library staff will have you fill out a short application and they will make a photocopy of your ID.
Your application will be reviewed and if approved your card will be ready for pick up at the One Stop Assistance Desk within two weeks.
Your PA Residents borrowing card will give you all of the same privileges as the Community Computers User card with the addition of checking out 10 books at a time. More detailed borrowing privileges are on the library’s website.
Visiting Scholars
If you are a Visiting Scholar you can request computer and library privileges through your sponsoring department. The department can request most privileges through the Guest Access Request System in TUPortal.
