With 30 years of industry expertise, MCB is the leading provider of custody services in Mauritius to financial institutions, asset and investment managers, corporates, insurance companies, collective investment schemes and family offices. Through its carefully selected sub-custodian relationships, MCB is well positioned to meet its foreign and local clients' needs in markets around the globe.
Through our local expertise and exposure to global investment markets, we have developed a deep understanding of foreign markets, their participants and regulations.
Any client will need to open a portfolio account for investment purposes. If you are already a client of the MCB, you may contact your Relationship Manager who will guide you through the account opening process. Alternatively, leave your details through the “Contact Us” button and we will be in touch with more details.
There is no minimum investment required to open an account. There is however, a minimum fee applicable for keeping the account open. Generally, clients tend to maintain enough investments to cover these minimum fees.
An Investment Settlement Account (ISA) is a dedicated account that allows you to manage the cash flow linked to your investments. It is used to settle all cash movements resulting from the purchase or sale of securities and income collection such as the receipt of cash dividends. A separate account allows you to keep track of all your investments and be in better control of your cash.
You may open different investment portfolios should it make managing your investments easier. You may also open accounts in different currencies and link them to a given portfolio.
The fees for the custody service comprise of a safekeeping fee which is calculated based on the total value of your assets and transaction fees. Both safekeeping and transaction fees will depend on the markets you are looking to invest in, and the investment products. If you know the markets and assets you’re interested in you can get more information from your Relationship Manager or use the “Contact Us” button to get in touch and we will be pleased to assist you.
If you want to buy securities traded on global exchanges, you will need a broker and a custodian. MCB Group offers you both or if you already use the services of a broker, as your custodian we will clear and settle your transactions on the international market and safekeep your assets. You can choose to keep your investments in multiple currencies or a single currency.
Please contact us for more details.
Yes, joint portfolios may be opened with a maximum of 3 co-holders.
You will need a broker to buy or sell securities on your behalf even if you have a custodian. You can use the same broker for all your transactions or different brokers.
As your custodian we will handle the settlement of the trade executed by your broker, once we have received the details of your transactions. Unlike a broker, as your custodian we will also process all corporate actions (e.g. interest and dividends payment) linked to your investments.
Yes, you can move part or all of your assets to MCB. However, there are some steps that need to be fulfilled to ensure we can safekeep your investments. Contact us or your Relationship Manager at MCB for guidance.
