The updated EU industrial strategy highlights the need to accelerate the green and digital transition of EU industry and its ecosystems. To that end, it proposes working together with industry, public authorities, social partners and other stakeholders to design and implement Transition Pathways for each ecosystem.

Two years following the launch of the Transition Pathway for Tourism, this initial assessment illustrates that the co-creation was successful in identifying key areas for action and defining relevant objectives to inspire different groups of stakeholders to take action. A key conclusion from this report is that all work areas are progressing and should continue to be supported in 2024.

Dedicated actions for 2024 include:

  • Improving available data and measurements
  • Acceleration the digital transition in all its aspects
  • Building destination’s resilience by placing the well-being of local residents at the core
  • Investing in reskilling and upskilling the tourism workforce
  • Accelerating synergies between actors with the T4T stakeholder expert group and T4T upcoming stakeholder support platform
