Ammon George Robert Barksdale is from Norristown, Pennsylvania. He played end on the varsity football team; forward on the varsity basketball team; and was a high-jump specialist on the varsity track team.

The first “class” high jumper at Morgan, “Barky” set high jump records at the Pennsylvania Track Carnival, the New York Athletic Club’s Games, and the Millrose Games.

“Barky Roll” represented the U.S. aboard in the high jump, and was one of the first athletes at Morgan to receive three varsity letters within one year.

“Barky Roll” is presently employed as a district sales manager for A.H. Robins Pharmaceuticals, Miller Morton Division. He is a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce; Commissioner of Boy Scouts; Co-sponsor of the 22nd District Human Relations Council; Member of the Health and Welfare Council of Philadelphia, and the Frontiers International. He presently resides in Monmouth Junction, N.J.
