Arnold was born on September 23, 1944 in Houston, Texas. He attended Kashmere Gardens High School in Houston and received an athletic scholarships to Morgan. His Last two years at Morgan were on an Academic Scholarship.
    
While at Morgan "Money" was a student Court Justice, a member of the Dormitory Council, The business Club, The marketing Club, The Political science club and Varsity Football team. He was on the Dean's List 1963-66. Other honors include being a political scholar, a member of the Presidents Cabinet, Black Law Students Association Leadership Award and received an Outstanding Award for MOOT Court competition.

HIs athletic exploit on the football field earned him 2nd team "All-State" and "All C.I.A.A" in 1963, 1st team "All C.I.A.A" in 1964 and 1965. He was also elected captain of the football team in 1965, the tri-captains year.

Currently ,"Money" is a member of the Morgan National Alumni Association, the Varsity "M" Club, The Golden Bear Club, a partner in the C & J Construction Association and advisor to the Mayor on Minority Economic Development.
