Curtis Ellis entered Morgan State University from Washington High School, Washington, Pennsylvania in 1977. Â He received his Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications in 1983. Mr. Ellis joined a Morgan wrestling program on the rise and took no time to begin cementing his place in Bear athletic history.

A standout in the NCAA Division II 118 pound weight class, Mr. Ellis was undefeated against all MEAC conference competition (36-0) during his four year career spanning 1978-1981. He was also undefeated at home against non-conference competition during that same time span. As one of the top five wrestlers to ever compete for Morgan State University, Mr. Ellis was a four time MEAC conference champion (1978, 1979, 1980, 1981), a three time All-American selection (978, 1979, 1981), and a two time East Regional Champion (1980, 1981) for his respective weight class.

In 1980, Mr. Ellis was invited to and won the Penn State Invitational, one of the nation’s most challenging invitational college wrestling tournaments. He also experienced success in the tougher NCAA Division I 118 pound weight class, achieving a rank of the 8th best overall wrestler in the country in 1980. The team captain finished his career with an overall record of 102-17-1, and became one of only four Morgan wrestlers to be named an All-American selection at least three times.

Mr. Ellis resides in Baltimore, MD, where he has owned and operated Reel Image Media company since 1998. He has been an active member of his local community serving as a volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Maryland, a volunteer with Operation Paws for Homes dog rescue, and being a youth wrestling coach for ten years. Mr. Ellis is the proud father of two children, Amberly and Corbin.
Currently resides in Windsor Mill, Maryland.
