Donald Ernest Lee Patterson is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. He attended Dunbar Senior High School and enrolled in Morgan in 1951.

At Morgan he was All-CIAA and co-captain of the football team. He is a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. In 1960-1970, he was president of the Varsity "M" Club. He also served in the Army Medical Corps in 1956-1958.
   
He was a teacher and coach at Booker T. Washington Junior High School, Hampstead High School, Dunbar High School, and Coordinator of the Community School Program at Lake Clifton High School. In 1970, he was the Superintendent's personal representative in charge of student disorder at Eastern; assigned by the Board of Commissioners as District Officer for Student Greivances.
   
Among numerous civic activities, Pat was campaign manager for Clarence Blount; Hillsdale Heights Neighborhood Association; Pigskin Club of Washington, D.C.; Public School Teachers Association; NAACP; Citizen's Planning and Housing Association and Special commendations for Service Beyond the call of duty with the Maryland State Department of Employment Security-Youth Opportunity Center.
   
He is married to Barbara Jones Patterson and has a son- Pat, Jr.
