 Howard Morgan is a native of New York City. He graduated from Peekskill High school. While in high school he was named to the All-County Track Team in 1947,'48 and '49, and to the All-State Track Team in 1948 and 49'. Howard was also a boxer, winning the lightweight Championship in 1948 and the Welterweight Title in 1949.
    Howard entered Morgan on an Athletic Scholarship. He was on the first Morgan Freshman team to win the MIle-Relay Championship of America in 1950. He ran on the mile relay team that won L.A Coliseum Championship at Los Angles, California in 1951. HIs teammates were Triplett, Labeach and Rhoden. 
    Howard ran on championship mile-relay teams, three straight years. These championships included; South Atlantic A.A.U (indoor and Outdoor), Washington Star Games,(Indoor), C.I.A.A- outdoor, Knights of Columbus- indoor, Seton Hall Relays- outdoor, National A.A.U Relays- outdoor. His positions on the teams were: 2nd year- #2 leg, 3rd year- #3, and senior year he ran anchor and was never unplaced in the 440 while at Morgan. He captioned the team in 1954.
    While Serving in the Air Force, Howard was named to the Air-Force Track Team in 1957 and '58. In 1958, he was co-holder of the Air-Force Track Team in 1957 and 58'. In 1958, he was co-holder of the Air Force record in the 440 at 48.6 sec. with Jim lea.
    Howard is currently employed at the National institue of Child Health and Development.
