Ja Nina Trinity Lee is a native of Bedford Hills, New York. A self admitted tomboy, she gravitated towards anything sports related at an early age and established her dominance as one of top volleyball players in the state at Fox Lane High School. Recruited by some of the top Division-I programs in the country, fate and destiny led her to accept an athletic scholarship to Morgan State University in the fall of 1994. She would go on to finish her career as the all-time leader in career blocks, career aces and as the second all-time leader in career digs (currently in sixth place).

On the court as a Lady Bear, Mrs. Lee quickly became one of the most dominant Middle Hitters in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC), earning Second-Team All-MEAC and MSU Rookie of the Year selections her freshman year. She came back even stronger during her sophomore season in which she led the conference in blocks earning a First-Team All-MEAC selection, and helped lead the Lady Bears to the 1995 MEAC championship game while being voted to the MEAC All-Tournament team and as the MEAC Outstanding Performer after compiling eight (8) kills and twelve (12) digs in the final game. Building upon her previous two seasons, Mrs. Lee entered her junior season as a seasoned veteran and earned First-Team All-MEAC and MEAC All-Tournament selections the second consecutive season.

Injury caused her to miss the 1997 season, but Mrs. Lee proudly cheered her teammates as they won the MEAC conference championship and defeated Grambling State in an NCAA Play-In match earning the Lady Bears the distinction of becoming the first Historically Black College or University to earn a spot in the NCAA Division I Tournament. She returned in 1998 in strong form, leading the Lady Bears to their second straight MEAC Championship while earning her third career First-Team All-MEAC and MEAC All-Tournament selections. Mrs. Lee finished her career with 512 blocks, 236 aces and 921 digs. Her athletic prowess not only limited to volleyball, Mrs. Lee also played softball in the spring seasons, where she excelled both on the mound as a pitcher and at the plate.

Mrs. Lee graduated from Morgan in 1998 with a Bachelors of Science in Broadcast Journalism. She began her career with NBC, working in television production for shows such as Dateline and the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City. While at NBC she discovered her passion for beauty and make-up, and in 2010, she was blessed with her lifelong dream opportunity to work with Whitney Houston, doing her makeup for the Nothing But Love Asian and European world tour. As a freelance artist, Mrs. Lee has worked with a host of celebrity clients, including Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton, and she currently works on popular TV shows as Law & Order: SVU, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and Access Hollywood.

Mrs. Lee currently resides in the New York City metro area, and is married to fellow Morgan alum Nashad Warfield. She attributes all of her athletic and career success to a praying mother and her personal faith in God, as her favorite scripture is Philippians 4:13 – “I can do ALL THINGS through Christ who strengthens me.”

Currently resides in Irvington, New Jersey.
