"Jimmy" Rogers, born in Blankenburg, west coast, Demerara, Republic of Guyana, attended high school in Georgetown, Republic of Guyana. He attended Morgan State from 1951-1955. During his tenure at Morgan, Jimmy Rogers was a member of the track team and the recipient of many track honors. He was CIAA 440 yd. champ from 1953 to 1955; He was a member of the American team that traveled to Norway, Scandinavia and Finland in 1953; Was a member of winning relay teams in the 440 and 880 in 1952 thru 1954. He was the anchor man on the National Mile Relay Indoor team in 1954 and 1955. His efforts helped his track team to win national prominence. 
Rogers is a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and the Beta Kappa Chi Honorary Science Fraternity. During his undergraduate years, he held the position of President of the chemistry club in 1955 and also the International Club in 1954 and 1955. 
His academic honors include being on the Deans list from 1951 to 1954. He received the graduating prize as the Chemistry senior in 1955. 
He obtained his medical degree in 1960 from Meharry. At present he is the attending urologist at the Mercy Catholic Medical Center of South East Pennsylvania. He is a member of the Philadelphia Medical and Pennsylvania State Medical Societies. He has been an active member of the Philly Alumni Association and the "M" Club. 
Jimmy is married and resides in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania.
