"Jimmy" Rogers, born in Blankenburg, west coast, Demerara, Republic of Guyana, attended high school in Georgetown, Republic of Guyana. He attedned Morgan State from 1951 to 1955. During his tenure at Morgan, Jimmy Rogers was a member of the track team and a recipient of many track honors. He was the CIAA 440 yd. champ from 1953 to 1955; He was a member of the Amercian team that traceled to Norway, Scandinavia and Finland in 1953; Was a member of winning relay teams in 440 and 880 in 1952 thru 1954. He was the anchor man on the National Mile Relay Indoor Team in 1954 and 1955. His effors helped his team to win national prominence.
Rogers is a member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and the Beta Kappa Chi Honorary Science Fraternity. During his undergraduate years, he held the position of President of the Chemistry Club in 1955 and also the International Club in 1954 and 1955. He has been an active member of the Phily Alumni Association and the "M" Club.
JImmy is married and resides in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania.
