Mai-Lin Cooper Rollon was a dynamic athlete and outstanding performer for the Morgan State Women’s Tennis Team from 1993 to 1997. Mai-Lin was a member of the first Morgan State Women’s Tennis program to win a MEAC Championship in Spring of 1994. Mai-Lin played Doubles alongside Kim Napier-Hall, where they dominated the courts together. Mai-Lin obtained her Bachelors of Science degree in Health Education from Morgan State. She subsequently moved on to receive a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix, Arizona, and a Master’s Degree in Nursing and Midwifery from Frontier Nursing University in Hyden, Kentucky.
Mai-Lin celebrates this accomplishment with her husband of 25 years, Jan Rollon; sons, JJ and Malcolm; brothers, Jade and Diamond Cooper; and her parents, Madeline and Duane Cooper; amongst many family, friend, and colleagues that have supported her throughout her athletic, personal, and professional endeavors.
Mai-Lin gives special thanks and kind words to the following beloved friends and family members: Jade and Diamond Cooper, Coby Turner and Jacob Williams, for making me stronger and smarter to play on a boys' tennis team in high school. Byron Greene for submitting my name to Coach Frazier to play tennis at Morgan State University. Carl Turner, Joe White and Eric Carmen for being the bonus coaches that took the time to help build my tennis skills. Morgan State Coaches Larry Frazier and Sean Hendricks for choosing me to play for this amazing team and always being supportive. My Cousin/Soror Shemia Williams for your love and guidance during my years at Morgan State. Line sisters and Sorors of the Alpha Gamma Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for being the epitome of womanhood in how you have demonstrated our Jewels in my life; Bloody Pi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc for your kindness and respect. Extended Morgan State, Baltimore and Arizona friends/family for your continuous love/support and bringing joy to my life. Rev.
