Michael Holston, a native of Seat Pleasant, Maryland, began his athletic career at Bladensburg High School where he was a two-time Maryland State hurdles Champion and record holder and an All-State wide receiver. After high school, he continued his track and field career on a 2-year scholarship at Hagerstown Junior College, becoming an All-American performer there in the 400m intermediate hurdles and 1600m relay team. [Inducted into Hagerstown JUCO athletic hall of fame in 1999]

Holston entered Morgan State University in 1978 from Hagerstown JUCO on a full track and field scholarship. During his first year at Morgan, he decided to focus on football and became a contributing member of the last championship football team, the undefeated 1979 MEAC Champion Morgan Bears. During his second season in 1980, he became the team’s leading receiver, setting a new record for the most receptions in a single game (12), a record that stood for twenty-three years before being tied in 2003.

Holston concluded his Morgan football career being selected to the first annual Sheridan Black College All-Star game in 1981, and was selected by the Houston Oilers (now the Tennessee Titans) in the third round of the 1981 NFL draft as the 10th overall wide receiver selected. He was the last Morgan football player drafted in the NFL draft until Visanthe Shiancoe in 2003. In his first season with the Oilers, Holston was named to the Football Digest All-Rookie Team.

Holston has also achieved additional success off the field since ending his professional football playing career in 1987, serving as a certified training instructor and physical fitness coordinator for the U.S. Department of Energy from 1988-1997, and serving with the U.S. State Department Diplomatic Security Service Uniform Division since 1999 (a position he still holds today).

In addition to his civil service, Holston is also the CEO and founder of Points Three Plus International (P3P), a holistic physical training company he founded in 1987 after receiving numerous inquiries about his own personal fitness regimen. Building on a lifetime commitment to physical fitness, he holds a National Sports Performance Association Certification and aims to maximize the physical, mental and spiritual development of his clients to achieve long lasting results in training.
