Russell Wesley Jolivet was born on November 28, 1943 in Baldwin, Louisiana. He graduated from Kashmere Gardens High School in Houston, Texas and entered Morgan in September, 1962.
While attending Morgan, Russ was a member of the Dormitory Council, the R.O.T.C., on the Dean's List in the Spring of 1966 and a member of the football team.
As a member of the football team, Russell was named All-Conference in 1965, voted Most Valuable Player in the 1965 Orange Blossom Bowl and received the W. Babe. Jones Award the same year.Â
Russ resides in Randallstown, Md with his wife, Ernestine Jones Jolivet. They have two childern, Aaron who attended  Morgan and Tina who is a graduate of the University of Maryland.Â
Russell was employed by American Credit Indemnity Co., is a life member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, and was associated with the Randallstown Optimists, Forest Park Little League, United Negro College Fund and was on the board of directors of the Peale Museum.
He enjoyed golf, basketball, fishing and gardening.Â
