In the Spring, 1994 season, Tania along with your teammates were members of the first Morgan State women’s tennis program to win a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Championship. Tania, shared the spotlight amongst teammates and played #2 Singles and #1 Doubles alongside Andrea Ledet, where the two dominated the courts together. As an athlete she showed perseverance, playing injured, which pushed her ahead of your competitors, and was named MEAC Tournament MVP and Morgan State Athlete of the Year.

Tania has 24 years of service at Bank of America Securities in Credit Sales and Trading. She is an active member of the

Black Professional Group and Diversity and Inclusion Network at Bank of America.

Graduated from Morgan with a degree in Psychology in 1997. My daughter’s name is Niya Pitts who is currently a senior at Delaware State University. Her major is Business Management Information Systems in honors and is in a member of the Women’s Senate Hornets in Motion Curls and Coils. I reside in New York City.

Tania would like to sincerely thank her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her parents Richard Layne, Jean Robinson-Layne and daughter Niya Pitts for the unconditional love. Coach Frazier and Sean Hendrix for the guidance. Her teammates Andrea Ledet, Kim Napier-Hall and Mai-Lin Cooper- Rollon for their encouragement, friendship and her Morgan State friends Trisha Escalona, Shanae Seivright-Steadman, Joiee Thorpe, Sunshine Outing, Meah Pace, Ayanna Poindexter for life-long memories.
