Tommy King enters his fifth year overall as assistant strength and conditioning coach.

During King's time as an assistant he has been primarily responsible for implementing and training programs for basketball, volleyball, softball, and cheerleading while assisting with football and track. While working with women’s basketball and softball his first few years, King has helped both programs improve in wins each year while also setting a few school records.

In 2014, King first year coaching was part of the football staff who won the school’s first ever MEAC title and first berth to the NCAA Division I Championship. King began his coaching career as a volunteer intern at Coppin State under Allen Van-Norden now Director of Sports Performance at University of New Orleans. 

King graduated from Morgan State University with bachelor degree in physical education with honors in 2012. He also went to earn a Masters in Business Administration in 2015. 

King is a native of Bridgeport, CT where he played football and ran track.

King holds a certification through the NSCA (National Strength and Conditioning Association) and is a certified Level Sports Performance Coach through the USAW.
