Fantastic product, I have recently had a hot air pump fitted alongside the state it the art new boiler and all new radiators.
I have lived in my home for 26 years and this is the first walm Christma
s I’ve had, used alongside my smart meter I am now in total control.
All communications with the company have been exemplary as was the issuing of my 5 year warranty.

I really can't review the product because I haven't had it long enough. It's all working fine mostly due to an excellent installation team from Octopus. I have very little to criticize except for taps in the middle of the trunking behind the outdoor unit. They could easily be positioned at the bottom of the trunking but I was told that is where they had been told they should go. The unit has a big gap behind it but it needs access to air so I can't complain about that. Overall, I am very pleased with the system and the installation team from Octopus.

The Daiken heat pump works flawlessly. The install by Octopus is neat and tidy. Can’t believe just how quiet it is when it’s running outside. No more hot then cold then hot then cold rooms, just a blissful 21degrees 24-7. Far less noisy than our old, and now obsolete boiler. No more being awoken as the heating kicks in!

The warranty registration process is bordering deceitful. My installer offered 5 years with no questions but your system made me click through multiple stages to get something that I should have by default. Sort your systems out!

My Heat Pump

I called the home help line for Daikin on Friday14.05.21 because my heat pump was not functioning. Details were sent to the Bristol Office and within half an hour I had a call from their service dept. who rang to fix an appointment for an engineer to come. An engineer came out on the following Monday 16.05.21 from Bristol checked the equipment diagnosed the fault which was a 32amp fuse. This was corrected and the pump is back in business. In these difficult times I consider this exemplary service, no hiding behind covid, just wonderful service, thankyou Daikin and the staff involved.

Craig from Daikin in Glasgow

Craig from Daikin in Glasgow, you should be promoted to head of training, you have managed to achieve what others have failed to do since January, you have got the cleanse on the Altherma air heat source pump to actually work. Cannot begin to tell you how relieved I am, as I can now no longer be blamed, as end user error for this system failing in the catastrophic manner it has. Email sent to head of Daikin UK thanking them for sending you and also asked that it be passed on to the good folks in Japan.
Absolutely not.
It's colder than Moscow as I write, because hey it don't work, but hey guess I can control mother nature. This system and the experts are a joke

Another day of being ignored by Daikin so another one star review.

Don't know how to get their attention. Maybe a big banner outside their office.

These one star reviews will drive their average down even more but they don't seem to care!

Your engineer called as arranged and my partner and I would just like to say how impressed we were with how friendly, helpful and knowledgable he was. He helped us a great deal, answering all our questions and setting up the system properly.

If I could put no star or minus I would.
Absolutely disgusting service.
No one calls, no one cares, we send numerous emails which they ignore.
Buy their products, but do not expect any support after that.
Maybe it’s potluck as there are a couple of good reports... but definitely not from our experience. The date now is 8 5.2021 and we have had contact from a lovely guy called Henk from Daikin He listened to my story and was empathetic and could totally understand our upset. We have now resolved the bad feeling and have moved on. I feel most relieved , as I really do not like writing a bad review. Thank you Mr v d b.

Daikin's Call Out Response

Daikin's response to the problem I reported yesterday morning was excellent. They had an engineer on site in the afternoon of the same day which is impressive.

Their engineer found problem quickly, identified the parts required and ordered them the next day. He was very experienced, polite and very respectful to the current Covid situation. I would gladly welcome him back.

A brilliant engineer

I know that many people send in emails and letters complaining about the engineers that turned up to their house to repair their boiler but I want to do the complete opposite.

I want you to know how brilliant Mark Williams is.

He is professional, helpful, knowledgeable, approachable, kind and friendly.

He is now the only engineer I would want to sort out any problems and to have service my boiler.

He filled me with confidence knowing that he was so knowledgeable about my boiler and took the time to go through how the actual boiler works and how to use the control panel, something that has never been explained before.

I think that Mark is a credit to your company and I hope that you realise what an asset he is to you.

I have a Daikin unit with three heads

I have a Daikin unit with three heads, the installers put it in and promptly went bust, Daikin was quick to point out that the warranty lies with the installer, as they bought the units, so they undertake the manufacturers warranty, not Daikin, so all you people out there be warned, it can be the best bit of kit going but if the installers are not ant good then the warranty is also rubbish.
Daikin wants me to get back to them as to what my problem was, well when the head in the lounge started dripping water I asked Daikin for help, that was when thet said the warranty was with the installer who bought the units from them. I also had an installation from Growatt by the same installer, Growatt has got back to me and they supplied a new part and an electrician fitted it, it still did not work, the electrician said to give him the Growatt contact and he would get the problem sorted if he can. Now that is good service, Growatt didn't quibble about the 5yr warranty. The Daikin gear was supposed to be warranted for 10yr according to the installer, but that is probably another story, it just proves all they are after is the sales.

Wish I had changed years ago......

We had a great experience. A Daikin approved installer helped us select the correct heat pump for us. He kept us up to date throughout the whole process and was able to meet all agreed deadlines.
Now we finally got rid of our very old oil boiler, which has created more space in the garden. Comfort levels have improved so much, we especially notice it now the weather has turned colder.
Great solution, we recommend to everybody. Wish we had changed years ago....

This company is an absolute shambles…

This company is an absolute shambles and I would warn anyone to steer well clear I have 5no Air source heat pumps and they have been nothing but trouble - the repairs I have had carried out have more than doubled the initial cost of the installation.
The after "service" is a joke they never call back / correspond at all and they send 3rd party companies out to =service units they know nothing about - my system has now been down for over a week and all they have done is send a 3rd party out who just pressed reset and left the house without checking the system was working (it wasn't) - I've had no report no receipt - literally no contact other than when I call them - disgusting.

We had an altherma unit fitted and…

We had an altherma unit fitted and started using it in July. At the first sign of frost on 8th December it broke down. No spare parts available until 30 th December leaving us living in 7-9 degrees and no hot water for 3 weeks, all over Christmas. Only another 3 more freezing days to go. No offer of heaters or support. Covid didn’t ruin Christmas 2020, Daikin did.

I am eligible for 100% funding and will not use 10k because of these TIME WASTERS!

Total waste of time I signed for interest thought EDF then I received few automated emails from Daikin and requested an engineer to contact me for a detailed quote and that was before more than 3 months. Tried to contact them few times but no response. Green Home Scheme is ending and I am not sure will find other installers at this point. I am eligible for 100% funding and will not use 10k because of these TIME WASTERS!

We have had a ground source heat pump…

We have had a ground source heat pump for 7 years it is awful! It has broken badly, with minimal use as it’s in a out building Which we don’t use daily, 3 times, some of the parts are £600 and it’s just broken again needing one of their engineers as our excellent plumber can’t fix it, even with a £265 part which they quoted us £720 for. One of their engineers is now needed at the call out fee of £234! Come on Daikin get your act together and look after your loyal customers. I wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone. I think it’s time we cut our losses and bought from someone else! AVOID

Heat Never Works

I am a store manager for a coffee shop and my new store has Daikin units fitted in, ever since we opened they haven’t worked properly, I’ve had more engineers out to these units than any others in my 15 years of management, only 1 out of five units works correctly in the store, I thought I’d have a look online to see if it’s just me but obviously not.

Cannot fault my Daikin air source heat…

Cannot fault my Daikin air source heat pump. It’s quiet and heats my home well and efficiently! I see a lot of bad reviews here however if any good product is fitted by people that don’t understand this technology (which is a lot) then you can’t blame the product / manufacture if it doesn’t work correctly!!! Then complain that Daikin refer you to the installer to sort there bad install - come on guys.
Well I will continue to enjoy my Daikin altherma heat pump for years to come that was fitted by a Daikin sustainable home center for added piece of mind that professionals fitted it that knew what they were doing.

As a customer/supplier/Installer of…

As a customer/supplier/Installer of Daikin Heating products for many years, I found it disappointing to read the bad experiences that some people have had with Daikin.
From my prospective, I can not fault them at all.
They offer great technical support, their technicians are very experienced and qualified , detailed training and a great delivery service, I particularly enjoy the free delivery text service that Informs you when your delivery is on route.
Every Heating system will experience issues at some stage in its life time, so unfortunately this has to be charged for and parts can be expensive.
Daikin offer a great service and warranty package of which the price can be set for 10 years, this package is only offered to Installations that meet a certain standard, so its important the homeowner selects the right Installer that is Daikin trained.
So many other brands of heat pumps have no technical support or spare parts available, with Daikin most Spare parts are available next day. on DPD delivery service.

Vow, it's not just me. They ARE really bad.

Vow, like others before me, it is with some relief to see I am not the only one whose experience with these guys is consistently bad. It started five years ago after a Daiking Altherma was installed at our new house (the D.A. air-source heat-pump is a brilliant piece of engineering btw). I learnt when we applied for the government subsidy that the installer was not certified, and we will not be eligible for any government allowance. Then, each year booking the servicing of the unit is a dreadful experience. During the warranty period, as well as since the expiry of the warranty they are arrogant on the phone, they talk to you like you were a totally ignorant person to whom they do a favour. In previous years it happened that the young lady at the switchboard put me through to the wrong team. This year, they seem to have a new automated switchboard. I had to make five choices (make no mistake, not choosing from five options, but choosing between 3-4 options five times!) to finally get to the right menu on the phone. Then after waiting for twenty minutes, came the usual treatment. The guy on the phone simply should have told me: "you are stupido that you do not remember talking to us only 13 months ago that you took out a 12 months policy and you should renew it before talking to us!" He should have just said that. That would have been less condescending, and it wouldn't have felt very different.

I would rate 0 stars if that was an option

I'm so relieved to find that I'm not the only one who has had an appalling experience with Daikin. I've had my Air source heat pump for just over 5 years and over that period I can honestly say that I have spent most of that time trying to:
1. Get in touch with Daikin support team via; email and calls.
2. Arranging an engineer out to assess the problem.
3. Getting an engineer back to then fix the problem.

After the first year, we had a problem of getting the heating to work at all. We spend days trying to get a response and finally after 2 weeks they came and sorted the issue.
The next problem happened in 2018 which again, meant we lost heating and hot water. The issue was a "flow sensor" problem. We managed to get hot water, by resetting the system each time we wanted to use it, but this was just a temporary solution.
The flow sensor was fixed and all was fine again.
But then on 30th September this year I lost heating and hot water again and found there was a "7H-01 water flow problem" with a following message saying "Tank disinfection function not completed correctly". I tried the same method as we did last time, but this didn't work. WE WERE WITHOUT HEATING AND HOT WATER FOR 10 DAYS!!! It took 10 days to get the problem fixed (which doesn't sound like a long time) but during late Autumn early Winter, I can tell you, It was horrendous and to top it all off they sent me a bill for £623.45!!!
I am a construction site manager and I wouldn't use Daikin or recommend them to any of my clients or projects.
