I have travel insurance as part of my banking with RBS. They have swithched Compay to Allianz, the previous Company were great to deal with. A claim was made early July and after hours and hours of phone calls, emails and endless promises of call backs which never happend it has just been paid. This has to be the worst Company ever to deal with, looking at the reviews we cant all be wrong?
I have been with my bank for 20+ years and this is the last year I will switch to Virgin who offer the same benifit of travel insurance with your account.
Companies on Trustpilot can’t offer incentives or pay to hide any reviews.

I have Allianz insurance through Lloyds and have had it for decades. When my flight was recently cancelled for a holiday, I called them to discuss options and made a claim on their advice. In the end my claim was rejected and neither flights, hotels or additional transport costs were covered. What on earth was I paying travel insurance for? Utterly disreputable and untrustworthy! Shameful.
Dreadful service, apart from declining my payment when i called up they were not interested in making a booking for me. Will purchase insurance elsewhere, also call was put through to india and I could not understand what they were saying, awful
Travelled to Turkey and had an accident over there , from A to Z Allianz helped me out with all medical expenses, travel costs etc without giving me a single problem..

Allianz seems to not adhere to your policy’s…
They don’t adhere to your policy’s coverage terms until you challenge their conclusions upon final review of your claim…trip interruption language in the policy document clearly states that trip interruption covers transportation to attend funeral services of a covered death of a relative but their examiner “assumes” that you are discontinuing your trip and thus only approve the airfare to return to USA, but they don’t reimburse you for return airfare to “CONTINUE” your trip! Page 9 of our policy document clearly states that the trip interruption covers round-trip airfare, if you’re continuing your trip and our uploaded documents in support of claim clearly demonstrate that we indeed continued our trip, their rep said that’s not covered! So we did the research, called them out on their own policy coverage details and now the claim has been “flagged for review by a senior examiner”…how convenient that they assume benefits to be paid out are less than what their own documents state that the policy holder is due. Be careful with this outfit, their practices are designed with their own interests in mind, not yours! Hold them accountable to the fullest extent possible!

Won’t recommend
I bought their travel insurance for my Eurostar ticket, and they send an email saying “To cancel, please just please call … and as long as you haven’t started your journey, made a claim or intend to make a claim, we’ll arrange a full refund.”
But in fact they have a 14 day cooling off period so if it’s past this period they won’t give you a full refund. I understand that there’s a cooling off period but then why would you say full refund is available before the trip? That’s just straight up lying and I won’t be buying any insurance from a company I can’t trust at all.

Easy to buy impossible to claim
Easy to buy, hard to claim with Allianz. I sent them six medical invoices for emergency gp, hospital and pharmacy. Not a huge claim maybe €200. They said they would pay after i sent originals to FR social security/CPAM, and copies to my FR mutual. The govt insurer never replies but Allianz would not pay without a reply from the social security. They just didn't reply to my email with the invoices attached. I just bought a policy with them yesterday and then cancelled after finding evidence of my previous bad experience. Credit card payment. They say the refund could take 10 days!

The worst experience in my life
The worst experience in my life! Please don’t waste your money with them! I had a small accident in Miami, tried to keep in touch with the 24/7 medical assistance and nobody reply, I sent an email and nobody reply. I had to pay upfront for receiving assistance and now I’m claiming the expenses but they don’t want to cover it just because I didn’t speak with them before to go to the hospital. Please be aware from this company!

I have been dealing with Brandon…
I have been dealing with Brandon Smith-Killworth at Allianz regarding a claim and I have been thoroughly unimpressed by the way he has dealt with the matter.Allianz align with our bank,Coutts, to offer travel insurance. I won't bore you with the details but Allianz seem more focused on wriggling out of paying than keeping customers happy. We are talking about a £1500 claim and instead of paying us Allianz have offered £500 as compensation for the dreadful way the matter has been dealt with. They have admitted in writing they have made mistakes and apologised for their wrongdoing. However an apology is a cop out and costs nothing.I have had my time wasted and been treated badly.Coutts should be embarrassed by their association with an outfit like Allianz.
NB I have given one star only because there is no opportunity to give no stars.

False promises & advice
Please please please avoid this insurance company. I am left nothing short of dumbfounded from their business.
In June 2024 I called to get some expert advise directly from my insurance company about not being able to travel as a result of advice from our doctor. I was asked to get a note from my doctor which I did & that this would allow Allianz to pay the claim no problem. Well, that was their first lie.
This dragged on for 4 months & after being advised 3 times that everything was approved, I then called to check on the claim as their communication is non-existent to be told payment had been made & it’ll be with me shortly.
Another week passes. Still no communication. I then called again, & only at this point was I told it had been declined, sorry, bye.
Naturally after having jumped through a series of hoops providing the same documentation at least 4 times for them to kick the problem further down the road, I raised a complaint. The complaint handler was very challenging to deal with & advised they would make an offer of 2% of the claim value for me not to take this further but I only had until Monday morning to consider this offer as they have to close complaints within 72 hours. When I pointed out it wasn’t my issue or problem they advised me wrong in the first place or that they had waited until 3:30pm on a Friday to call me.
In short, I have been paying for a service & been advised on a service from the experts, only for them to declare at the very last minute you were misinformed. Unfortunately as a business owner if 4 of my employees got the same thing wrong I would be of the view the problem lies with me at the top rather than my colleagues. Shameful business & service. Will never be using them again.

Unbelievable bad service from Allianz travel insurance
I had to cancel a holiday following my wife being diagnosed with breast cancer following a routine NHS breast screening. She has since had breast surgery and undergone radiotherapy
I provided all the documents they originally requested, including medical evidence signed by the GP
However they keep asking for more information and new forms to be completed After weeks of going round in circles they now want another form completed by the GP to prove that this was not a pre-existing condition
Appalling service that adds to the stress
I will be raising another complaint … this time to Halifax Ultimate rewards who provide travel insurance as a benefit

Took out annual policy in February
Took out annual policy in February, get an email this week, my insurance will run out on my 70th birthday in a few weeks time, unless I purchase an age extension. Apparently I was insured under age 66/69 and my husband who turned 75 in May, was in the 70/75 group so his insurance will continue until policy expiry next February. Luckily we're not travelling abroad until next summer, so I'll find cover elsewhere nearer the time of travel ... I've never been 'penalised' for having a birthday partway through a policy! I wonder how many people have been affected by this.
We have the option for travel insurance via our Natwest bank account, but having read on here that Natwest use Allianz I'll definitely give that option a wide berth

Beware.... lost confidence in this product
Have travel insurance with Allianz Asst through Lloyds Bank Account.
Had 3 dreadful conversations with customer service regarding pre existing medical conditions all giving me 3 different prices.... very confused and confidence lost as to whether in the event of a claim that I would be covered.
Staff, English not their first language, very difficult to understand.
Taken my business elsewhere.
Just beware.

Useless. Avoid.
I have this insurance through my Lloyds private banking and it is appalling. A valuable limited edition watch which disappeared from my luggage was valued at £12.35! This is not a good product. Avoid at all costs as it will cost you more. I wish I had read the reviews and got another product. I will be complaining to Lloyds and requesting they change to a better service.

DO NOT INSURE WITH THEM
If I could rate minus stars I would. Poor experience from start to finish, would never recommend or use again.
Travel insurance was taken for my parents to cover an upcoming UK trip. My mum unexpectedly & suddenly passed away prior to the trip, which prompted my claim.
After a 30min+ phone call with a colleague who offered their ‘commiserations’ on my mum’s passing, I was informed I would get an email to process my claim. 10 mins later I received a call to advise I couldn’t claim due to my mum having pre existing medical conditions - something that was never asked about when the policy was taken, nor were they serious enough to make her unable to travel or cause death. It was something I was asked only when making the claim, but weirdly was never asked to provide a death cert or evidence of any kind.
A complaint was raised which was not formally logged by Allianz until around 3wks later. No apology for my experience or explanation, despite agreeing they would pay out. Consistent emails sent with extremely slow responses.
At one of the most difficult times in my life, Allianz made it so much harder than it needed to be. A complete lack of real empathy throughout my experience, no common sense applied & generally just shocking service. So disappointing!

Hoped I wouldn’t have to write this one…
Hoped I wouldn’t have to write this one but like everyone else Allianz has stitched me up. Put the claim in due to arriving in country of destination 24 hrs later. Take off delayed resulting in missed connection. Advised by these crook's that because the flight was less than 3 hours late I didn’t have a claim. Wouldn’t even reimburse the expense for 2 days lost accommodation. Have informed Lloyds bank that this insurance is rubbish and downgraded my account as I am not paying these thieves anymore money. I often regretted not taking a job with Allianz a few years back, I am now at peace with that decision. I told their rep to have a look on trust pilot at the reviews. Also told lloyds to have a peek and see what they are up to.
To be honest half expected their lame excuse after reading reviews once I had put my claim in. Shame on you Allianz. Last time I travelled I went with LV travel insurance and was reimbursed the full cost of my accommodation even though I requested the week lost only. STAY AWAY FROM THESE CROOKS AND DOWN-GRADE YOUR LLOYDS ACCOUNT CAUSE ITS NOT WORTH THE MONEY. Oh BTW lloyds said there was nothing they could do as they just take the fees.

DO NOT USE THIS ALLIANZ TRAVEL INSURANCE
DO NOT USE THIS TRAVEL INSURANCE. TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! HAVE WAITED OVER 2 MONTHS FOR MY REFUND DUE TO MEDICAL AND NO REFUND YET! I HAVE PHONED MANY TIMES. MUST TALK TO FOREIGN AGENTS WHO YOU CANNOT UNDERSTAND AND HAVE NOT A CLUE AS TO WHAT IS GOING ON WITH MY CLAIM. HAVE RECEIVED SO MANY DIFFERENT ANSWERS...IT ALL BOILS DOWN TO THEY DON'T WANT TO PAY OUT. REPORTING TO BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.

Unfriendly
I phoned to see if my over 70s NATWEST premium need increasing due to recent knee replacement. The young lady I spoke to was very abrupt and unfriendly. I had misheard her a couple of times due to problems with the phone signal. Also she asked me to DIAL the number on the card and was quite sharp with me when I asked when should I dial the phone number. She should have said enter the long number.

Don't touch their travel insurance
Don't touch their travel insurance. It appears designed not to pay out. We had our bags stolen. Allianz refused to pay without all original purchase invoices for our clothes. Utterly ridiculous.
