Reasonably easy to manoeuvre app. Driving data could be a little more up to date. Happy with black box installation as it keeps the driver on his toes (metaphorically speaking).
Renewal price was a significant reduction as a result of
a years careful driving, therefore the black box was worth installing. Only 4 stars as I could not give any insurance company 5 stars!
The lady to whom I spoke was delightful. She was not only efficient and professional, but very friendly and extremely patient. I am waiting for new hearing aids & had to keep asking her to repeat information, but she was pleasant and reassuring all the way through the process. I am very impressed, also very grateful for the company's policy of rewarding careful drivers by reducing policy costs.
Never use this company, I paid £1600 for two years AND made me pay top up miles because I did over 10k miles. I decided to not pay the top up miles and let them cancel my insurance. I got requoted with Hastings at £550 a month and to think I was paying an extra £1,100 with insure the box. I then have just received a call saying I OWE THEM an £80 cancellation fee, when they cancelled my insurance. Honestly a joke, you should be ashamed working for this company, complete scam.

About insurethebox
Written by the company
To do this, we fit a black box to your car which tells us things like your speed, the time of day or night you drive, your motorway miles and driving style (for example accelerating sharply).
It’s about the size of a smartphone and fitted out of sight – we do this for you at no extra cost.
This box helps us work out how safely you drive so that we can reward you with Bonus Miles and calculate a personalised renewal price for you. The safer you drive, the better chance you have to save on your premium!

Absolute shambles of a company I took out a policy and they sent someone to fit a blackbox, he goes back and tells insure the box that the wing mirrors i have on my car are not the original wing mirrors and the car does have modifications, so they cancelled my policy without telling me i got pilled and arrested and my car taken had a 6 month ban a £600 fine and 6 points on my license thanks a lot insure the box your out of order when i asked about it and told you they were infact the original mirrors you appoligisd and sent me £120 but my car had already been impounded and i had no transport for xmas, you should be ashamed of your company, so they cancel peoples insurance on bullshxt claims, stay far away from this company,

Be careful
The company did not change my vehicle details after 6 days it had not been changed as I said in my report.
They seemed to take great delight in offering me a private company they recommended at a price £676.00
which to an O.A.P. is a lot of money.

Called to ask about my renewal
Called to ask about my renewal, told that they no longer offered car insurance. The said that they had emailed us but we have no record of any email from them. Total joke of a company and if this is the way they treat customers who have not made a claim god help anyone that has a claim. Avoid at all costs.

They tried to take over my claim using pressure tactics from India Call Centre
They tried to take over my claim when I'm not insured by them.
Used pressure tactics from an Indian Call Centre. Very unprofessional.
Wouldnt use them myself and would recommend people avoid this company.

Super terrible insurance
I would give 0-star if there is.
Not worthy the price. They cancel my policy but charge the cancelation fee. They told me it's written in the agreement ...
They record the track, which is terrible (who knows how the data is used!)

Very reasonable price and easy to contact very polite and helpful customer service the fact you can call them anytime and a person would answer you and sort out your request is great I was so happy with them from the day I bought the insurance to the end when I sold the car. It was very easy to cancel it and very clear actually you can see everything in your dashboard I think transparency is the key and it made this company very trustworthy to deal with. I should thank their customer service every time I contacted them, they were very careful and they go through all your concern with patience.

Not a pleasant experience.
Worst decision I made going with this company. Had a black box with 2 years no claims and a clean license, was paying 120 a month which was pretty fair. Until I ran out of miles, found myself paying around £250 on top up miles + insurance cost and realised it would be cheaper to switch. They told me as I still had a few months with them I have to pay over 800 quid or I’ll be referred to a debt collecting team. I asked for alternative options, staying with them and paying extra but they said there was no other way, keep paying around £370 on miles on insurance or be indebted to them. Seems like a very sleazy company and I would warn anyone to stay away. If going ahead make sure you have enough miles on your policy to do you the year as they’ll hang you for it. (I won’t go with a company that gives me a set amount of miles again)

My son has been with the insured the…
My son has been with the insured the box (part of Tesco group) for almost a year, in fact, one day away from a year.
It was the cheapest option for him as being a 17 years old new driver, £3500 for 6000 miles, top up around 40p a mile. It’s a hard wired black box, the black box was fitted within 2 weeks, compare to his mates, most of them had sensor telematic vision. The hard wired data monitor is harsh with insured the box, name drivers such as parents need to be careful as SPEED limit is the maximum speed you should drive, you receive monthly bonus miles as reward, maximum of 100 per month. My son received 480 bonus miles this year. Ok the downside is when mileages run out, you were told it needs to be top up otherwise the policy will be void and cancelled, however their data on the app doesn’t upload correct data daily, one day you checked you have couple of hundred miles left the next it’s gone, i think the app needs to improve, driving data should be updated daily, i think at the moment it get update on a good few days or even once a week as ours haven’t been updated since 18/11 and we are on 23/11, so it’s very annoying to monitor it how many miles you have left.
One BIG plus side is the RENEWAL price, we didn’t expect the renewal would be this cheap, so over 3 weeks ago I went on comparison site and found a cheapest non black box insurance around £2800 with Hastings, and when we received the renewal quote from insured the box , we were pleasant surprised how CHEAP they are, cheapest to all the comparison site even for the black box policy. They offered us 20k miles for £1200!! We had to take this offer as it’s too good not to and he is happy to have the black box for one more year.
So if you want to reduce the cost of RENEWAL then this may be a good option for you.
