They will tell anything to get you signed you in and get you transferred and then with overcharge you.
First I was told that the online is going to be free and then it comes up that you have to pay for the register for online. Okey, I did nothing at that point.
But second, I was told that I will have a lifetime 30% discount for the premium by the senior account executive on the phone and in the email. And now they are saying that they will not honor what I was signed for. We don't have that discount anymore) So why do you call it a LIFETIME DISCOUT and saying that it's going to be a LIFETIME. This is unacceptable! And I am very unsatisfied with this situation!!!

We recently needed help configuring the correct DNS values to authenticate and verify the 'Generic and Service addresses' for two Lightspeed websites, each hosted by a different provider with unique settings.
Mr. Bester provided assistance by clearly explaining every step, staying persistent with follow-ups, and patiently guiding us through the mistakes we made along the way.
All was up and running perfectly within just a few days.
Great support service.

LOVE this POS system! We were with Quickbooks POS for 15 years, up until they closed it down. Then we tried Shopify, but it didn't work the best with our retail brick & mortar set up, since they are more online shopping based. We have been completely happy with every step in our Lightspeed journey, from the sales department answering our questions honestly about what their system could and could not do, to the onboarding of actually getting our existing info from the old system into Lightspeed, to the daily use of the system. Support has always been super prompt whether it's via a chat or phone call. Their support resources often answer my questions before I even need to contact them, but when I do need their help it has been amazing!! Truly can't say enough about this company, very happy we made the switch!! :) For reference we are a brick and mortar feed store with no online sales. We deal in cash, checks, credit cards and charge accounts. 90% of our sales take place in person in our store. If you have a similar set up I highly recommend using Lightspeed Retail X series.
I am a new Lightspeed customer and I received an amazing response and treatment from the two people who took care of me, Martijn and Johan. Both were amazing with wonderful interpersonal skills and always helped me.

I'm really liking the POS System, But.....
I'm really liking the POS System, but my frustration stems from the Credit Card portion. You have two choices and both are extremely backed up and can not handle workload. You can not use local providers who can have you up and running. Make sure you give yourself weeks after purchase before you need to make sales.

Lots of Potential... hard to get needed changes made.
Lightspeed Retail (Cloud) has a lot of potential when paired with the Web Store. It's frustrating when simple enhancements/fixes either never get addressed or take over a year to fix. For example: on the web store, showing the slashed regular price and a sale price isn't available. It's approaching 2 years and that simple feature is still not addressed. A reported bug took about 10 months to address and fix. So if you are looking at Lightspeed and don't see a feature, chances are it will be a long time before that feature will be added. I am seeing improvements in the company (i.e. performing upgrades after hours and not during the day; better communication; some enhancements (just not the ones I have been asking for!)). So in closing... I see gradual improvements and much potential with Lightspeed. So the company will eventually get there... you just need patience!

Disappointed to say the least
I can't speak about how it may be to use Lightspeed as your only back end and POS system. I chose and implemented Lightspeed because I was informed that it could sync inventories and work with Shopify (my website platform). Their API had not been functioning for months now and I've been unable to use the system I spent hundreds of hours implementing and a couple thousand dollars. They've done very little to help me and it's been the most frustrating experience I've ever had professionally. The problem is still not resolved and I'm beyond disappointed with their service and system ability.

I would leave if I didn't lose 4.5 years of data!
I have been terribly disappointed with LightSpeed over the past 3 months. More outages, slow speeds and lost features than I care to remember. Let me name a few...
1. Down time for hours (500 errors) during peak sales periods causing loss of sales and disappointed customers.
2. Removal of features such as graphs of sales by hour/day/month and report showing oldest products in stock.
3. Complete deactivation of API causing frequently used features needed for business operation to be shut down.
4. Forced to move to new version even though features from previous version were not ready.
5. Ability to break down cases into items but must set reorder points on cases only. Can not (after years of service) set a reorder point on an item to trigger order of a new case.
These are just some of the issues that I have with LightSpeed. I am held hostage and remain with them because I would lose my 4.5 years of data if I jump ship. I was even offered 4 months of free service because of the downtime if I was to agree to a non-disclosure of the agreement. I agreed to the NDA only to see my credit card billed a week or so later. I have left messages for accounting and even a tech support member who "would stay on it until he saw the credit go through" and no response for more than a week. I consider the NDA broken by LightSpeed and therefore voided. Buyer beware!!

Kindness
This company is committed to make you feel total comfort using the point of sale. When you call them it is always a pleasure for them to help you learn or find something in the system my. I highly recommend them based on the people and the product.

Ultra Responsive & Friendly
What set Lightspeed apart from other POS solutions was: 1) how fast they responded to our inquiries, setup demos and put us in touch with other customers; and 2) the many types of inventory. We absolutely had to have serial number and assembly. Box logic was icing on the cake. We are on a first name basis with the support team because we enjoy talking with them and want their opinions on process. They're also great at helping us figure out how to solve problems (that we made) and work around challenges (new processes that improved our business).

Yikes
Weekly issues of some sort. Frequent, intermitent down-time without warning. Extremely week webstore. If you are selling crocheted blankets out of your house, it's great. If you are trying to run a multi-location, multi-channel, multi-million dollar retail business, it falls short.
