Odoo faces several ethical concerns:
1. They claim you can downgrade your plan, but account managers say it's not possible, and you cannot back up your website data.
2. Your database is only usable within Odoo systems. While you can download it, the extensive hours of data and information are not included, making it effectively useless for other systems.
3. They advertise as free, but if you miss a payment, they will suspend your account. Reactivating it requires retroactive payment. It’s misleading to call it free.
4. We signed up for the free Odoo app but, after uninstalling the trial, continued to be charged. They instructed us to stop using that database and to start a new account for the free app, complicating our data migration, which ultimately had to be done manually.

Odoo’s verdict is still out for our company but we used SAP Business One for many years and we use NetSuite in my other company and Odoo so far is as good and in many ways better than those two.
The price, even though a bit funky, (we pay more than advertised for some obscure reason) is still close to zero when you compare it to NetSuite for example, that including integration, training with five users only, cost us close to $70,000/year!
Odoo includes manufacturing and bar code scanning modules, which is the way it should be.
But their competitors use third party, very expensive, and difficult to integrate providers.
I just wish that Odoo had even better integration with our MacBooks e.g, Calendar, Notes, Reminders, Mail, FaceTime.
All I can say is, for the cost, just try it yourself running in parallel with your current system. Overall we are very impressed.

Badly Treated
I engaged with this company for my new webshop. They made me a good offer and promises at point of sale. It turned out that the salesperson had miss-sold me making pricing promises that seemingly was wrong. He was dismissed from the company but the company did not stick to the promises made to me prior to paying my fees. In the end, I was treated poorly and the product I wanted was compromised. Odoo are a sales organisation first and foremost and their product (in fairness) is just average. From my experience, I would recommend you look elsewhere for your solution

One pleased Inexperienced accountant
I am using Odoo as a single, private user - helping family to draw up probate accounts. I think the software is amazing.
The bank import is extremely helpful, as too the predefined accounts.

Unacceptable Service and Lack of Accountability
I deeply regret choosing Odoo as a solution for our business needs. From the very beginning, the experience has been nothing but frustrating and stressful. The system sold to us by Celine Sierra, the salesperson, has failed to meet expectations, and the promises made during the sales process were not delivered.
Over the past four months, we’ve made no progress despite multiple attempts to implement the system. Every step of the process has been riddled with issues, making it impossible even to complete a simple practice run. When we raised these concerns with Troy Whitford, the Business Systems Analyst assigned to our account, we received little to no constructive support, further compounding the problem.
Now, after investing a significant amount of time and money into a product that hasn’t performed as promised, Odoo refuses to issue a refund. This stance is not only unprofessional but also a complete disregard for customer satisfaction and ethical business practices.
I strongly urge anyone considering Odoo to think twice. The lack of accountability from their team and their unwillingness to honor basic principles of fairness and professionalism make it clear that they are not a trustworthy provider.
Avoid this company at all costs.

Magic tool, magic services.
The tool is great : it does everything while being super cheap and customizable. Our company is really relying on it. More than that, they provide an amazing service in terms of cybersecurity, maintenance, upgrade, backups and support! The tool is so powerful it's not easy to handle it, but when it's done, it's magic!

Avoid at all costs
Absolutely useless support team who haven't listened to my issue, we have wasted our money and cannot recuperate it.
Based in Portugal, and when selling us the program, they ommited to say that the system wasn't setup to work with Portuguese tax system. Oh, if you want to set it up, just get the consultant package of 2000€. What a joke.
Been attempting to get a refund for an unused account for 6 months with no luck. Avoid at all costs!

ODOO Dubai Customer service
I have been using ODOO for almost 8 years. The program is fantastic to my opinion; but their customer service in UAE (Dubai) is a horror story. I started my account with European center contact and was forced to move to Dubai account after a few years. Then dealing with them; became my nightmare. Do NOT trust or expect ANY service from ODOO Dubai branch and save yourself from frustration and waste of time and ....
