Been with them 20+ years and service slowly got worse. Calls cut off, limited opening hours for the call centre, problems not always resolved and the website is very limited. They claim to listen to feedback but improvements are not made.

Avoid. No app, which I didn't realise until too late (made the mistake of assuming every bank nowadays would have one). Have only managed to Login once - Login never works, and if you click on 'Forgotten password' their only solution is to post you new codes which take up to three weeks to arrive. They then also did not work. Called Customer Service, to say codes had been revoked - they didn't know why. And that the ONLY thing they could do was send me some more out via the post, which could take up to three weeks... And then might not work... I actually feel that they've stole my money at this stage, as I cannot access it, and the staff are powerless to help.
I have just called to close my account and almost changed my mind as the people at Cahoot have always been so courteous and helpful. This time was just as good and the young lady answered quickly, and made it easy. Only closing as not using the account and felt unnecessary to keep. But I may be back :)
I have been trying to close my account since last September 2024. Advised this cannot be done online and that I must phone. I have been phoning regularly since then (including sending two emails asking for my account to be closed). No-one answers the phone. I have been holding on now for 20 minutes. I'm about to hang up out of sheer frustration!!!!!! What appalling customer service.

Terrible site
Terrible site, trying to transfer money and constantly kicked back to the home page to start login process again. I've been with cahoot 6 months and this is a regular issue. Should have realised a bank without an app is using ancient tech and can't coupe with modern usage. Time to transfer savings elsewhere.

Victim of fraud
Victim of fraud. Cahoot partly refunded and decided to cancel the refunds, leaving me overdrawn. They allowed 14 fraudulent transactions in 2 hours from the same merchant. No communication from Cahoot and have to chase them. Their security protocole is weak. Shocking

Blocked a transfer after it said it was going through!!
A savings account matured and after making a transfer to another external savings account, I had the usual cahoot message that it is being processed.
However, the transaction was actually being blocked because cahoot it seems blocks the first transaction to a new external account I learned later. Only when I logged in again did I get a message that the account was blocked, but I still assumed the money had been moved.

daft systems and hidden constraints
Helpful (if slow) customer service on phone but systems are v frustrating. They welcome deposits of 'upto £2 million' however transaction limit for withdrawals is only £25k!!! (not that you are told this anywhere on their website, FAQs or printed fact sheets)
Only sensible way for me to access money quickly was to close account, for which i was charged £25 to make CHAPS payment. Did this over the phone which took 25 minutes
security systems also v irritating - why long alphanumeric phone checks rather than just numbers as every other bank does?

Impossible to make easy transfers out without account being blocked
I have been trying to move money from my Cahoot savings account using their online app. I'm told I can only move max £25k at a time but can in total move £100k in a day. When i tried to move £25k 2 days ago, I was locked out of the account and had to go through a lengthy phone call with their security before it was unblocked. I told them i would be doing the same amount each day for the next week and had to give them the details of my son's account, where he lived, the address of the property he had bought (for which my funds were being transferred to help) But today I have been again repeatedly blocked out. Each time I phoned their security, it took 30-45 mins to get it unblocked. And each time I then tried to make the transfer, I was locked out. Even though they require authentication codes sent to my phone when making the transfer request, their system prevents it. A useless bank. Owned by Santander, which I left several years ago over the same issue. I'm now closing the account. No apologies or attempt to sort things out.

Account matured and Cahoot moved my money to a low interest account. Tried to move money out of my account and it requires a one time code which they do not send me. So I am prevented from moving money to a better account while Santander profits from my cash.
Pathetic service and if you try and contact they will try and respond in 3 days.

Handicapping
I have been locked out of my account despite having entered the codes correctly. I am trying to transfer equity this week and will not be able to do so. The equity will go to my x-boyfriend who will now be unable to complete on his flat sale, causing another lost property and several months of mental turmoil and breakdown.
The bank have not called me back and I have already spent quite a while on the phone today.
It is appalling I cannot access my own money and that so much at stake (transfer of equity and house purchase) has been forfeited because of simple incompetence from Cahoot.
I have been thoroughly fixed-up and incredibly let-down. I shall be complaining to the Financial Ombudsman if this problem is not fixed tomorrow (11/12/24). Cahoot are thoroughly negligent.

Santander should disown this company
Santander should disown this company, they are shocking, tell lies and have caused so much stress. They tell you one thing and then backtrack when questioned. I couldn't get a simple statement. The app they use is Santander and is totally irrelevant to Cahoot. Put your money elsewhere even at a lower interest rate, trust me you won't regret avoiding Cahoot.

Go to the AGM if they ignore your complaint
I have an ongoing complaint with Cahoot about not sending out confirming documentation when an account has been closed. Today, I spoke to a member of the Santander Executive Complaints team, the identity of whom I'm not allowed to divulge. They gave their agreement that I would be able to raise my complaint at the next Santander AGM and that I could also provide their name as having agreed to this approach. Seems you have to go up to an AGM to get listened to.

Awful and incompetent - avoid!
Despite offering great interest rates, the customer experience was awful! Something seriously glitchy going on with their application system claiming my identity can't be verified even though my details are all correct, address hasn't changed in a decade and credit score is excellent and record is accurate. Then was advised to send copy of ID via post that they then misplaced to wrong parent bank Santander which now can't be retrieved anymore - because it was filed with Santander, total lack of common sense and customer care to my time and effort making up for their incompetence. Absolutely shambles! Avoid! Not worth it! I raised a formal complaint that took 2 months to be called back instead of 48h, they offered 50£ for the inconvenience. Absolutely ridiculous. Do better cahoot, it's 2024 not 1994!

Clunky and old fashioned
Really difficult to deal with. Both the email address and the secure messages don't work. No app or social media presence. Only a phone number. How are you supposed to contact them if you don't use the phone?

Totally Happy with Cahoot Bank
I'm amazed to see some poor reviews for Cahoot Bank. I've been with them for many years and find both the online site and phone access 100% excellent.
The Northern Ireland staffers on the phone are always polite and friendly and helpful. Nothing would make me swap from Cahoot for easy access banking. Every transaction with them is a pleasure.

Marmite?
Seems Cahoot is either hated or quite liked. We opened a joint savings account and all seems well. Yes, you have to wait for 2 letters to arrive with login details - 5 working days in our case, but I don't have a problem with that. I knew upfront it was purely browser-based (no app) and it loses a star because it doesn't render well on a mobile phone so pretty much restricted to access via a laptop.
My first test was to move money in then out of the new account - worked fine without any seeming transfer lag.
I was also able to personalise my login details over the temporary ones sent by letter, no problems.
It may have helped that the interface is very close to Santander online banking so was familiar to me.
Other than having to contact support (remember your credentials people), I'm struggling to see how other reviewers had so many issues.
