The agent, Maz, was knowledgable, helpful and flexible. He was respectful of my insistence in validating the company before I gave any details over the phone and he followed up on his promise to call back.

Outrageous collectors of data for profit, masquerading as aides to Estate Agents. I would not be at all surprised if the Estate Agents get paid by Goodlord for every one they put through their system.
YOUR DATA WILL BE SOLD - YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.

Easy phone call to renew, only took 10 minutes and being an older person the agent was very helpful

Having used Goodlord previously, I was deeply disappointed by the recent change to a bot-driven referencing experience. Compared to the smooth, user-friendly process I encountered a couple of years ago, this new experience is very frustrating. It's beyond me that Goodlord would roll out such an obviously flawed UX without proper user testing.

Shocking company

Shocking company, cannot get to speak to anyone you want to, asked to leave a message and they never call you back, still contacting our tenants after we have terminated our contract, will make your company look bad and incompetent, I could go on but you have been warned.

Horrible

They failed to add my landlord's reference to my application, I had to chase it. I started using their partner's utility transfer services and was quoted 506 pounds per month for energy and water for a two bedroom flat (was quoted 79 by other providers independently for reference). So I obviously didn't sign up for anything but still somehow ended up with an account at the energy provider and will be charged for a period where I wasn't even living at the property.

Shocking Service, No Care For Landlords

I've been in the industry 24 years and can honestly say that the service offered by way of rent protection to landlords is shocking.

At no point has the rent been paid anywhere near on time and I have to chase for payment on behalf of my client time and time again.

Evicting tenants is stressful enough for landlords, but the added stress from not bothering to pay the rent efficiently makes life even worse.

I have even recently asked to deal with a senior person and requested their complaints procedure, but not even the courtesy of a reply.

I will not be using Goodlord going forward, as there is no customer service and my experience has been terrible!

There is constant issues with…

There is constant issues with guarantors. Managing student lets we have ALOT of guarantors and encounter issues weekly with the Goodlord systems when a tenant adds either the wrong guarantor or the wrong email address. When you remove them to let the tenant add a new one it locks the account and only Goodlord support can fix it. Time consuming and inconvenient.

We've never signed up to them or give…

We've never signed up to them or give any consent for anyone to provide both our phone numbers to them when we moved to a new rental property a month ago. They continue to call both me and my partner, leave voicemails and its borderline harassment at this point. If someone don't call you back they are clearly not interested.
Please stop calling us both constantly, we did not consent for our phone numbers to be shared to them.

IF YOU SEE GOODLORD ANYWHERE RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!!

If I could rate them less than 1, I absolutely would. My first issue was dealing with the bot and their overly rigorous question-answering process. They also requested an excessive amount of sensitive information, which left me feeling unsafe and concerned for my privacy. After confirming with my employer and former letting agent that they had completed the reference form, Goodlord claimed there was an inconsistency in their responses and denied me the apartment. Keep in mind, my previous apartment was referenced by Goodlord, and I’ve been paying rent through them without issues.

Despite this, they refuse to provide me or my prospective letting agent with a report detailing what the inconsistency was. I believe this is a deceptive tactic, as I can’t even get a refund of my deposit.

STAY CLEAR

My experience with Goodlord has been incredibly disappointing. The referencing process was unnecessarily invasive, requiring excessive documentation well beyond what is standard in the industry. Despite providing numerous forms of evidence, including payslips, references, and a bank statement, I was subjected to further demands that felt disproportionate and intrusive.

To make matters worse, when I expressed concerns about security and refused to proceed with clicking a provided link, my referencing was marked as failed. On top of that, Goodlord refused to refund the fees I had paid, which is entirely unfair given the circumstances.

Throughout the process, my name was also misspelled multiple times, despite it being clearly stated on the documents I submitted. This lack of attention to detail only added to the frustration and reflected poorly on the professionalism of the service.

Overall, I found the entire experience stressful and deeply unsatisfactory. I would not recommend Goodlord based on their invasive practices and poor customer service.

Absolute charlatans

Absolute charlatans. There is NO need for a company to demand open access to a bank account or savings account for a guarantor that owns a mortgage free house and has given proof of income and savings despite being retired. If they don’t get that, or payslips Goodlord ‘fail’ the guarantor. Overreach is an understatement. In today’s world of scams and phishing who on earth would allow some random employee of a company unknown to them troll openly through their financial affairs?? It’s for a student 1 year rental agreement, they’re not buying the house! An email was received saying the guarantor checks have been done and passed back to the agent then the student gets a call 4pm to say the guarantor has failed and demanding a new guarantor completes the application by midnight. Absolutely bullying and unethical behaviour.
