Take part in the Youth Policy Dialogue with Commissioner Kadis - express your interest to take part until 31/12/24

We are looking for young people (18-30) to take part in the first Youth Policy Dialogue with Commissioner Kadis, European Commissioner for Fisheries and Oceans, at the 2025 European Ocean Days in Brussels.   

On 3 March 2025, if you are selected, you will come to Brussels and, together with around 15 young people, have the unique opportunity to sit down with Commissioner Kadis to ask questions and discuss the EU’s ocean governance and policies that affect your generation and those to come.   

The discussion will feed into the European Ocean Pact that the European Commission aims to present in June 2025.  

How to apply 

Please fill in the application form on EUSurvey with the following:  

  1. Your full name, nationality, occupation, and contact details. 
  2. Maximum 200 words with (a) the main topic you would like to discuss related to the future Oceans Pact* and (b) two specific questions you would like to ask the Commissioner.  
  3. Whether you are a member of a youth organisation (related or not to ocean matters). 

Selected participants will be invited to attend at least one online preparatory meeting before the dialogue.  

Who can participate 

Participants should

  • Be an EU citizen aged 18-30, currently residing in the EU. 
  • Have a good command of English. 
  • Be comfortable with speaking in front of an audience. 
  • Be able to attend in-person at the event in Brussels on 3 March 2025. 

What’s included 

  • Travel expenses to Brussels.  
  • Accommodation for the nights of 2 and 3 March 2025 in Brussels.  
  • Breakfast with other young participants in the dialogue.  
  • An invitation to attend the full-day event, focused on ocean literacy, blue education, and youth engagement in ocean matters.
