A California baker is finding humor in dark times after her house burned down from the ongoing fires in Los Angeles.

Erin McKenna took to Instagram on Thursday, Jan. 9, to show how her husband packed up their family’s belongings when evacuating.

“Here’s everything my husband took before evacuating,” the vegan and gluten-free-focused pastry chef began in the video, holding up each item as she continued.

“His velvet blazer, two bras for me, two robes for me without the sash, an entire suitcase for himself,” the Erin McKenna’s Bakery owner described.

Of course, he didn’t only gather random clothes, McKenna explained, showing that he also grabbed an assortment of items for their three children. “My daughter’s script for her play, trophies, grocery bags, an empty suitcase, all of his guitars,” the cookbook author said.

To give credit where it is due, McKenna showed a stuffed bunny with a blanket and proclaimed, “This is valid.” “And actually so is a sweatshirt,” she added.

In the caption, McKenna wrote that her “heart is in pain.” “Nothing funny about what is going on but I do find this funny 😄 In all actuality my husband is a hero for getting the kids and the dog out safely in record time. And I am grateful for the robes.“
