Photo: Erin McKenna's Bakery NYC/Instagram A California baker is finding humor in dark times after her house burned down from the ongoing fires in Los Angeles. Erin McKenna took to Instagram on Thursday, Jan. 9, to show how her husband packed up their family’s belongings when evacuating. “Here’s everything my husband took before evacuating,” the vegan and gluten-free-focused pastry chef began in the video, holding up each item as she continued. “His velvet blazer, two bras for me, two robes for me without the sash, an entire suitcase for himself,” the Erin McKenna’s Bakery owner described. Of course, he didn’t only gather random clothes, McKenna explained, showing that he also grabbed an assortment of items for their three children. “My daughter’s script for her play, trophies, grocery bags, an empty suitcase, all of his guitars,” the cookbook author said. To give credit where it is due, McKenna showed a stuffed bunny with a blanket and proclaimed, “This is valid.” “And actually so is a sweatshirt,” she added. L.A. Fast-growing wildfires have devastated Los Angeles since first starting one week ago, Tuesday, Jan. 7. The fires are fanned by severe winds and fed by dry vegetation and containment efforts will be hindered by a high wind event beginning early Tuesday, Jan. 14 through at least Wednesday, Jan. 15, according to Los Angeles Fire Department. Many residents, including celebrities, were forced to leave their homes. PEOPLE reported Adam Brody and Leighton Meester, Anna Faris, Cobie Smulders and Taran Killam, John Goodman, Jamie Chung and Bryan Greenberg and Jennifer Grey as some of the stars who have lost their homes or had to evacuate. According to the L.A. County Sheriffs, as of Monday, Jan. 13, there have been 24 deaths total, 23 people missing and 35 arrests.
