The 13^th WTO Ministerial Conference will take place in Abu Dhabi from 26-29 February 2024. The WTO is the cornerstone of the multilateral rules-based trading system, but it faces deep challenges, particularly in today’s complex geopolitical environment.

The European Union has been working hard to deliver meaningful multilateral outcomes that ensures MC13 will be considered the first ‘WTO reform’ Ministerial Conference, in particular on dispute settlement reform, fisheries subsidies, the e-commerce moratorium, the work programme, agriculture including food security, and the strengthening of the deliberative function of the Organization through the launch of discussions on trade & industrial policy.

The purpose of this meeting is to exchange views on the state-of-play of the negotiations in the run-up to the WTO Ministerial Conference, and on the possible outcomes.

The Commission will also present the state-of-play of the negotiations on the various plurilateral initiatives within the WTO including on E-commerce, Investment Facilitation, and Trade & Environment.
