| International Day of Forests |
| 21 March is the United Nations’ International day of forests. The theme for 2023 is ‘Healthy Forests for Healthy People.’ Watch the video here. 7 million euros for forestry projects |
| New Horizon Europe project ForestValue2 will launch a call for proposals to fund transnational collaborative R&I projects: all about the best possible use of forests and forest resources, their multiple benefits for society and the economy. The call should open 2 May 2023. |

| The Circular Bio-based Europe Joint Undertaking (CBE JU) has published its Annual Work Programme for 2023 with information about its next call for project proposals. The funded projects must contribute to circular and sustainable production in line with the European Green Deal. Digital tool for the sustainability of the olive oil sector |
| The SUSTAINOLIVE project (EU PRIMA programme) co-funded by Horizon 2020 has launched a digital application for olive growers making the transition towards more sustainable olive groves. This app is divided into three sections: a public chat, resources including info sheets, manuals and videos, and contacts of experts. |

| Grass and green fodder for the bioeconomy |
| The bioeconomy can be supported at the field level through innovative and replicable business models. The GO-GRASS Horizon 2020 project has analysed relevant data and evidence for policy action and published a list of recommendations in a White Paper to promote solutions and sustainable bioeconomy products using grass and green fodder. |

| INCREASE is a Horizon 2020 project about improving the sustainable use of plant genetic resources focusing on four important legumes: chickpea, common bean, lentil and lupin. A new brochure ‘Working towards agriculture of the future – EIP-AGRI in Germany’ provides results from many projects, feedback from partners and advice from innovation support services. It also has a section on Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems (AKIS). |
