EIP-AGRI Innovation Awards 2024 for Operational Groups: seven winners from the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Ireland and Spain
There were six categories with five nominees in each category, and all thirty nominees competed to be voted the public favourite. The winners were announced during the awards ceremony which was held as part of the EU CAP Network conference ‘EIP-AGRI Operational Groups: Innovation in practice’ to showcase the achievements of more than 3400 Operational Groups. And what a celebration it was!
Supporting Monitoring Committees and strengthening farm skills

Advancing implementation of the CAP’s green architecture
Advisory services, cooperation opportunities, results-based payments, simplification and CSP revisions were among the top topics highlighted by members of the EU CAP Network’s Thematic Group (TG) on Green Architecture: Designing Green Strategies. These issues continue to be explored by TG members in preparation for a concluding meeting in June.
May edition of the Innovation and Knowledge exchange newsletter focuses on pollinators
The May 2024 edition of the Innovation & Knowledge Exchange | EIP-AGRI Newsletter focuses on pollinators. It highlights stories, videos and podcasts from Operational Groups and Horizon projects, and presents a number of related funding opportunities. There are also examples from the EU CAP Network such as the ‘Promoting pollinator-friendly farming’ workshop, which will take place in Slovenia in June.
The evaluation support study of the EU support schemes for agriculture in the outermost regions (POSEI) and smaller Aegean islands (SAI) has just been published. It examines the extent to which POSEI and SAI support schemes contributed to enhancing agricultural productivity and diversification in these regions, such as the Canary Islands, Guadeloupe and the Azores.
These guidelines summarise the main outcomes of the Thematic Working Group on the 'Use of factors of success in evaluation' and can be used by Member States for tendering and conducting evaluations under CAP Strategic Plans.
Collaboration and funding opportunities for Operational Groups
EIP-AGRI Operational Groups can benefit from exchanging knowledge with other innovative projects, through (trans)national or EU-wide connections. A new brochure highlights successful collaboration, funding sources, support platforms and networking activities that can inspire Operational Groups to connect and boost innovation across the EU.
Water efficiency benefits flow from CAP Strategic Plans
CAP Strategic Plans can support a broad spectrum of actions protecting EU water reserves. A newly published Policy Insights article focuses on opportunities that promote sustainable agri-food systems and includes policy priorities and cost-effective financing models.
