A new study has been published offering a first quantified estimation of the CAP interventions' potential contribution to GHG emission reduction and removals. The report focused on 18 Member States, representing approximately 92% of the EU utilised agricultural area and around 95% of EU GHG emissions from agriculture for 2021.

The seventh meeting of the Subgroup on Innovation and Knowledge Exchange (SoIKE) was held online on 12 November 2024. The aim was to share experiences of follow-up activities targeting the uptake of EIP Operational Group (OG) project outcomes and discuss current and possible future actions that Member States can take to support these activities.

The second edition of the EU Agri-Food Days will take place from 10-12 December 2024 in Brussels, Belgium – and it will also be web-streamed. It is an annual event on the latest agricultural trends, policy options, and market developments, as well as on how research, innovation and digital technologies are shaping the European agriculture of today and tomorrow. Online attendance is also possible.

In the latest episode of Food for Europe podcast, Antonia Gámez Moreno, Head of Unit at DG AGRI, shares how networking fosters CAP implementation and empowers EU agriculture. From knowledge-sharing workshops to initiatives like Women in Farming, Ms. Gámez Moreno highlights how connecting people can transform local projects into EU-wide innovations and shape the future of policy. 

Three Focus Group reports and factsheets are now available for download. The topics are: Regenerative agriculture for soil health, Crop associations including Milpa and protein crops, and Competitive and resilient mountain areas. Discover the main results and recommendations developed thanks to the work of the Focus Group experts.

This edition reviews in depth fifty-five Member State evaluations related to climate change mitigation and adaptation. The study gathers the available empirical research on the topic, analyses challenges commonly confronted when assessing climate change, and provides ideas on how to overcome these. The reviewed evaluations offer precious policy design and implementation recommendations.

This Factsheet, based on contributions by various stakeholders, reviews examples of how the elements of the Common Agricultural Policy’s "Green architecture" are being utilised by EU Member States in their CAP Strategic Plans (CSPs).

Rural areas offer unique laboratories for artistic experimentation and reflection on global challenges, from climate change to food politics. We take a look at the variety of initiatives taking place across Europe.
