ETIP SNET at Enlit 2024

ETIP SNET and BRIDGE at Enlit 2024
-
- (CET)

Location: Milan

Enlit is a dynamic and comprehensive forum encompassing all aspects of the energy sector. It aims to connect industries, inspire action and help Europe Evolve into one decarbonised and digitalised energy system for the energy transition, across borders and across sectors.

Once again the event will host the EU Projects Zone with its stands, offering a significant opportunity for EU-funded projects to showcase their findings committed to accelerating the energy transition. ETIP SNET, in collaboration with BRIDGE, will have a joint stand 6.E10-S01 at the event, marking the 7th year of the partnership with Enlit. In addition, they will participate in two hub sessions.

In the "Sustainable transport integration into the grid" session, taking place on October 22 from 14.00 to 15.30 (EU Projects Zone Hub - Theatre 1, Hub Sessions) ETIP SNET and BRIDGE experts will explore the benefits and challenges of integrating power and transport sectors with a deep dive into V2G and grid infrastructure for e-mobility. Topics will include planning aspects such as coordinating charging station locations, capacities, and types as well as operational considerations such as power flows and EV battery degradation.

In the "Energy communities' impact on grids" session, taking place on October 23 from 14.00 to 15.30 (EU Projects Zone Hub - Theatre 2, Hub Sessions), experts from ETIP SNET and BRIDGE projects will delve into the role of energy communities, highlighting both the opportunities and challenges they present for DSOs and, by extension, TSOs. These communities can unlock active consumers' flexibility potential and more effectively integrate distributed renewable resources and new technologies. In contrast, energy communities must fulfill all related duties and responsibilities when acting as suppliers, active customers, or any other existing market role.

In addition, ETIP SNET experts will participate on October 22 from 16.15 to 17.15 (Inspire Stage) in the Summit with the session "Coordinated energy infrastructure planning", presenting the overview of the relevant paper recently produced by Working Group 1, followed by a panel discussion focusing on:

  • How to effectively deliver a strategy for Electricity, Gas, and Hydrogen Coordinated Energy Infrastructure.
  • Regulatory changes needed to facilitate better coordination.
  • Infrastructural changes required.
  • Digital tools and emerging technologies (e.g. Optical/photonic computing, High Energy Storage Battery, Grid Enhancing.
  • Technologies) that can support the integration of electricity, gas, and hydrogen systems.
  • Financing needs.
  • Good practices implemented within Europe and related lessons learned.

Registration for the event is now closed.
