Transfer money in Apple Cash to your bank account or debit card

You can transfer money from Apple Cash to your bank account within 1–3 business days or instantly to an eligible debit card.

How transferring money from Apple Cash works

Debit card transfer

  • Use Instant Transfer1 to send money immediately from your Apple Cash2 card to a Mastercard or Visa debit card.

  • You’ll pay a fee of 1.5% of the transfer amount (minimum $0.25, maximum $15).

  • You will see the exact fee before you complete the transfer.

Bank transfer

  • Transfer money directly from your Apple Cash card to your bank account without paying any fees.

  • Most transfers complete within 1–3 business days.

How to transfer instantly to an eligible debit card

Make sure that your iPhone or iPad has the latest version of iOS or iPadOS and that you have an eligible debit card3 in the Wallet app.

  1. On iPhone: Open the Wallet app, tap your Apple Cash card, tap the More button, then tap Transfer to Bank.

    • On iPad: Open the Settings app, tap Wallet & Apple Pay, tap your Apple Cash card, then tap Transfer to Bank.

  2. Enter an amount and tap Next.

  3. Tap the Instant Transfer option, then tap Next.

    • If you haven't added an eligible debit card, tap Add Card and follow the instructions on your screen to add a Mastercard or Visa debit card.

  4. Double-click the side button to confirm the transfer. Then authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode.

Your funds should transfer immediately, but can take up to 30 minutes.

How to transfer in 1 to 3 business days to a bank account

  1. On iPhone: Open the Wallet app, tap your Apple Cash card, tap the More buttonthe more button, then tap Transfer to Bankthe transfer to bank button.4

    • On iPad: Open the Settings app, tap Wallet & Apple Pay, tap your Apple Cash card, then tap Transfer to Bank.

  2. Enter an amount and tap Next.

  3. Tap the 1-3 Business Days option, then tap Next.

    • If you don't see your bank account, tap Add A Bank Account.

      • Enter your bank's routing number and your account number. Tap Next.

      • Confirm your account number by entering in the routing number and your account number again.

  4. Double-click the side button to confirm the transfer. Then authenticate with Face ID, Touch ID, or passcode.

Your funds should transfer within 1 to 3 business days.

If you're under 18 years old and part of Apple Cash Family

  • Children under 13 can transfer funds from their Apple Cash account to their bank account.

  • Teens 13 and older can transfer funds to their bank account or to an eligible debit card using Instant Transfer.

How to update your bank account information

  1. On iPhone: Open the Wallet app, tap your Apple Cash card, tap the More buttonthe more button, then tap Card Detailsthe card details button.

    • On iPad: Open the Settings app, tap Wallet & Apple Pay, then tap your Apple Cash card.

  2. Scroll down and tap Bank Account, then tap the bank account you want to update.

    • To edit your bank information, tap your routing or account number, add the information, confirm the numbers, and tap Next.5

    • To delete your banking information, tap Delete Bank Account Information. To confirm, tap Delete again. After deleting, you can add your bank information again or add different information.

When you update your information on one device, it automatically updates on all devices that are signed in to your Apple Account.

About transfer limits

  • You can transfer up to $10,000 per transfer and up to $20,000 within a seven-day period from Apple Cash to your bank account.

  • You can only transfer your money to a bank account in the United States.

  • There are no fees to transfer money from Apple Cash to your bank account unless you use Instant Transfer to send money to your debit card.

If you're a part of Apple Cash Family

  • You can transfer a minimum of $1 to your debit card or bank account, or your full balance if it's under $1.

  • You can transfer a maximum of $2,000 to your debit card or bank account in a single transfer.

  • Within a 7-day period, you can transfer a maximum of $4,000 to your debit card or bank account.

If you didn't receive your transfer funds

If it’s been more than 2 hours since you initiated an Instant Transfer and you haven’t received the funds, contact an Apple Cash Specialist at Green Dot Bank for assistance.

If more than 3 business days have passed since you initiated a bank transfer and the funds haven’t arrived, reach out to an Apple Cash Specialist at Green Dot Bank for help.

If you receive an error when you transfer money from Apple Cash to your bank account or debit card

  • Make sure your iOS or iPadOS software is up to date and that your device is eligible to use with Apple Pay.

  • If you're transferring money to a debit card, make sure that it's an eligible debit card.3

  • For 1 to 3 business day transactions, make sure that you added an eligible United States bank account and entered the correct account and routing numbers. If you think you entered the wrong bank account or routing number, contact an Apple Cash Specialist at Green Dot Bank.

  • Check the limits. The minimum amount you can transfer to your debit card or bank account is $1. If your Apple Cash balance is less than $1, you can transfer your total balance as an exception to the minimum. The maximum amount you can transfer to your bank or debit card per transaction is $10,000.

  • If you still can't transfer money to your bank or debit card, you might need to verify your identity.

Transfers typically post immediately but can take up to 30 minutes and are subject to security checks that may require more time to make funds available.   5. Enter your bank information carefully. If you enter the wrong information, your money might go to the wrong account and may not be able to be recovered.
