Find and replace text in TextEdit on Mac
Find and replace text in a TextEdit document.
In the TextEdit app on your Mac, choose Edit > Find > Find, then type text in the search field.
You can also select text, then choose Edit > Find > Use Selection for Find.
To refine your search, click the Search Options button , then select or deselect items in the pop-up menu. For example, to find text that exactly matches the capitalisation of your search term, deselect Ignore Case.
You can also search for special characters and text patterns, such as an email address or white space. Click the Search Options button , choose Insert Pattern from the pop-up menu, then select an item in the list.
To search for a sequence of items (for example, an email address, then a white space), add one item to the search field, choose Insert Pattern again, and add another item.
TextEdit highlights each occurrence. If there are multiple occurrences, move among them using the arrows.
