About Classwork assignments
Assignments provide a way for teachers to share information or homework with students. Assignments can consist of:
an assignment title
a list of recipients (an entire class or one or more students in a class)
a deadline
a delivery date
activities (apps, files, photos, videos, scanned documents, links, hand-in requests and exit tickets)
instructions (text, photos, videos, drawings and audio files)
Using the different types of activities available for assignments, you can incorporate a variety of apps into your class instruction.
If your school turned on the Student Progress feature in Apple School Manager and students work on activities in a progress-reporting app you sent in an assignment, all available progress data is shared with you. Classwork displays the data from the progress-reporting app as students work on activities in the app (for example, time spent on the activity, the percentage completed, quiz scores, hints used or points earned). The data available depends on the type of activity and is defined by the app developer. Every activity that supports progress reporting displays time spent data in Classwork.
For document, link, timed app and exit ticket activities, Classwork automatically displays information (time spent, number of questions answered) as students complete the activity.
You can publish an assignment to an entire class or to one or more students in a class, schedule an assignment to publish at a later time or save an assignment as a draft until you are ready to publish at a later time.
If you have multiple teachers in your class, assignments you publish or schedule are visible and editable by all teachers. Draft assignments are only visible to you.
Note:
You need an Internet connection to publish an assignment. If your Internet connection is interrupted, you can save your assignment as a draft to send at a later time, as long as it doesn’t contain any file attachments.
Classwork provides you with 200 gigabytes (GB) of iCloud Drive storage for distributing and collecting activities.
