Link to a web page, email, phone number or slide in Keynote on iPhone
You can turn text or certain objects (shapes, lines, images, image galleries, movies, drawings, text boxes, equations, groups of objects and animated drawings) into a link that:
Jumps to another slide
Opens a website or email message
Calls a phone number
You can edit the link text or destinations, or remove the links so the text again behaves as normal text.
Add a link
Go to the Keynote app on your iPhone.
Open a presentation, tap an object, text box or selected text you want to turn into a link, then tap Link.
Tap Link To and choose a destination (Slide, Web Page, Email or Phone Number).
Specify details for the destination:
Slide: Goes to another slide in the presentation. Choose one of the slide options or tap Link To Slide and choose a slide number.
Web page: Opens a web page in a browser. In the Link field, enter the URL for the web page. For a text link, in the Display field enter the text you want readers to see. For example, you may want to show the domain name and not the entire web address.
Email: Opens an email message pre-addressed with the address you provide in the To field. For a text link, in the Display field enter the text you want readers to see. For example, you may want to show the recipient name and not the entire email address. Enter a subject in the Subject field or leave it blank.
Phone Number: Calls a phone number. In the Number field, enter a phone number. In the Display field, enter the text you want readers to see. For example, you may want to show the name of the business or person the number belongs to.
Exit the slideshow: Ends the slideshow.
To verify the destination, tap Back, then tap the button for Go to Slide, Open Link, Compose Email or Call.
If you don’t need to verify the link, tap the slide to close the controls.
Linked text is underlined, and a link button (it looks like a curved arrow) appears next to objects that are linked. The link button doesn’t show when you play your presentation.
Edit or remove a link
Go to the Keynote app on your iPhone.
Open a presentation with an existing link, then tap the linked text or the link button on the linked object.
If the link is in a table cell, tap the table cell first, then tap the link button.
In the link editor, tap Link Settings.
Make your changes or tap Remove.
When you remove a link, the link text is retained but the link formatting is removed and the link is no longer active.
When you’re finished, tap the slide to close Link Settings.
Turn automatic formatting on or off for URLs, email addresses and phone numbers
Keynote detects valid web addresses (URLs) and email addresses and styles them (for example, with an underline or different colour) to indicate that they’re active links. Phone numbers aren’t formatted as links by default, but you can turn on automatic formatting for phone numbers. You can also turn off automatic link formatting for URLs and email addresses.
To change whether or not Keynote formats website URLs, email addresses and phone numbers as active links, you can update the settings for automatic formatting.
Go to the Keynote app on your iPhone.
Open a presentation, then tap at the top of the screen.
Tap Settings, tap Auto-Correction, then do any of the following:
Website URLs and email addresses: Turn Detect Web & Email Links on or off.
Phone numbers: Turn Detect Phone Links on or off.
If you don’t want links to show formatting but you still want them to be active, turn on Detect Web & Email Links or Detect Phone Links and turn off Apply Link Style.
The setting applies to new text you enter in all Keynote presentations. Existing links aren’t affected by the change.
You can set up your slideshow to be an interactive presentation that changes slides when the viewer taps its links. An interactive, links-only presentation is especially useful in a kiosk setting.
