Create a mobile app policy

You can create one mobile app policy for all or some mobile apps. You’re able to create policies for Jira Cloud, Confluence Cloud, and Opsgenie mobile apps.

Create a mobile app policy

For users who are already logged in to the app, we check for policy changes:

• Once every 8 hours, if the app has received a mobile app policy before

• Once every 7 days, if the app has never received a mobile app policy

You must have a verified domain before you can create a mobile app policy.

To create a mobile app policy:

1. Go to admin.atlassian.com. Select your organization if you have more than one.

2. Select Security > Mobile app policies.

3. Select Create a mobile app policy.

4. Select the apps you’d like to include in the policy.

5. Name your policy (150 characters or fewer).

6. Select all or a subset of users for the policy.

   1. For all users, you included managed accounts and external users in your organization

   2. For subset of users, you can only choose from Managed accounts in your organization

7. Select the security settings for the policy.

8. Select Create policy.

Add a mobile policy

To add a mobile app policy:

1. Go to admin.atlassian.com. Select your organization if you have more than one.

2. Select Security > Mobile app policies.

3. Select Add a mobile app policy.

4. Select the apps you’d like to include in the policy.

5. Name your policy (150 characters or fewer).

6. Select all or a subset of users for the policy.

   1. For all users, you included managed accounts and external users in your organization

   2. For subset of users, you can only choose from Managed accounts in your organization

7. Select the security settings for the policy.

8. Select Add policy.

Timeframe for policy updates

If a user enables notifications for a mobile app, we apply policy updates the next time the user opens the app.

If a user does not enable notifications for a mobile app, policy updates may take up to 8 hours if the user and app are already a part of the mobile app policy. If a user and app aren’t part of the mobile app policy it may take up to 7 days.
