How to reset or change your Spotify password

Change your password

If you know your current password and want to change it, follow these steps:

1. Go to your account page.
2. Under Security and privacy, select Change password.
3. Enter your current password and your new password twice.
4. Click Set new password to confirm.

Forgot your password?

If you’ve forgotten your password, you can reset it.

1. Go to the password reset page.
2. Enter the email address or username linked to your Spotify account.
3. Follow the instructions in the reset email we’ll send you.

Troubleshooting password reset issues

Didn’t get reset email?

Check your spam/junk folders, or any other filtered folders.

If you don’t have access to your email address, see “Old email address?” below.

Old email address?

You need access to the email address associated with your Spotify account to open the password reset link we email you.

If you don’t have access, here are some options:

• Try to regain access to the old email address if possible
• Create a new Spotify account and start fresh

No account associated with your email address?

Try entering any other email addresses you might have used to sign up.

Note: There are a few ways to sign up, ex. with email, phone number, Facebook, Apple, or Google. Try logging in with these to find your account.

Invalid password reset link?

If the reset link doesn’t work, try resetting your password again. This time, open the emailed link in a private or incognito browser.

Too many requests?

If you’ve tried resetting your password multiple times in a short period of time, try again later or use a different device or browser.
