I can think of only one reason to publish the note above, and that is because Microsoft has already been receiving considerable pushback. Unfortunately, your note simply doubles down by saying, in effect, that MSFT has received negative feedback about this move but is going to do it anyway.
The technical, practical, and functional issues aside, this simply points out that Microsoft no longer has any consideration for its customers. Outlook evolved into a powerful, useful tool. Instead of building on that legacy, Microsoft is stripping it away.
I'm glad that Microsoft views the evolution of its mail clients on Mac as positive. But it is astonishing that Microsoft would use 5% of the market as a harbinger for the other 95%. Shouldn't it be the other way around?
Microsoft customers deserve better.
