NOW ON DEMAND | The Microsoft Planner product team went live on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 9:00 AM - 10:30AM PDT to share information and insights about recent updates to the Planner app, and to give you a sneak peek at what's coming next, followed by a live Ask Microsoft Anything. Product experts showcased key new features and improvements of the new experience, including demonstrations of how to leverage Copilot in Planner, new Baselines to stay on track, web app updates, integration with Whiteboard, and more. The event included a live Q&A session where you can ask the team any questions about these updates. Watch the full, on-demand video below:

The AMA event on Tuesday is your chance to see the latest features of Planner and hear directly from the product team. This 90-minute session provided an opportunity for live attendees to ask open questions and provide feedback about the new Microsoft Planner. You can review all questions and answers, plus reply to existing questions, on the main event page (full video + comments): https://aka.ms/NewPlanner/WhatsNext

Note: You need to be signed in with your Microsoft Tech Community profile/ID to be able to reply to existing comments posted during the live broadcast; creating new comment threads is now turned off.

    Good morning,

I'd love to attend this session.

Are there any plans to run this session AEST for those wanting to attend in Sydney or will you have a recording available for those who cannot attend at 2am?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Looking forward to viewing the recording of the session! My question relates to multi-tenant support in Planner for the Web.

While currently it is possible to use planner for the web in a multi-tenant environment, it is not a slick experience. A user basically has to bookmark their plans and re-sign in every time they switch between them. With new Teams, multi-tenant is a first class experience. I'm wondering if Planner for the Web will make it similarly easy to switch between tenants, or possibly even view a dashboard of plans across tenants.

Interesting AMA. Charlie Tran made a great impression!

My suggestion for the planner team would be to not forget that all the parts make the whole. I see everyone focusing on 'advanced' task functionalities while very basic things are still not working. That bothers me as a user, and this AMA did not give me the impression that the team senses the urgency for providing basic functionality.

    • @mentions from task descriptions are missing, and commenting within a task is click-intensive. The way commenting on premium tasks is done currently is frankly absurd.
    • The overview of premium plans in My Plans > My Teams does not work.
    • Once you have a premium task assigned in your My Plans view, most fields are unavailable—let alone editable.
    • Task attachments are a mess. Both how they function and where they are stored need further customization.
    • Assigning tasks and the 'Assigned to Me' feature are buggy or do not work at all.
    • no Integration with Outlook.

These basic things are simply not there. As such, excessively talking about Copilot and various licensing structures gives imo the wrong signal. Same as working on 'nice to have' functionality in whiteboard. Get the foundational work done first, Microsoft.

P.S. the AMA mentioned powerBI templates running on the on the daverse data of premium plans; could someone be so kind to share a link to these? Roberto_Bojorquez. Thanks in Advance!
