I added an event to my calendar from a different email account and added my primary account as a person/invite. My primary account is shared with someone but as view only permissions. They were able to accept the invite sent to MY primary account? Why do they have access to this when they are set as view only?6Views0likes0CommentsInbox not picking up all emails
After someone said they had emailed me, and I couldn't see the email, I resent the email by clicking reply on my sent email, and their email response came up sitting before my response. But it could not be seen in the Inbox. It happened again today, only this time I noticed I had received an email OK from the same person about a different subject. Other emails are coming through from other people and I haven't identified any other missing emails.16Views0likes0CommentsOutlook 365
In the old Outlook I could drag Word, Excel, JPG, PDF files to a specifik folder under In-box and release. Then the file would be saved here. I can't do this in my 365. Do I need some kind of upgrade to be able to do this or is it just some kind of settings I need to change?42Views0likes1CommentRecovery my mail

I have a PDF that has a button to email the doc. It is not working since I upgraded to the new outlook. It seems to work the email opens with the pdf attached and when I send it the the email disappears but it does not send the email. The javascript in Acrobat is as follows: this.mailDoc({cSubject: this.documentFileName}); This worked until I upgraded to the new outlook. Any help in fixing would be greatly appreciated. Why doesn't outlook automatically activate "automatic responses" when an user sets an appointment on the calender with an "out of office" status. Literally the entire premise for automatic responses is for when an user is out of the office, so how is this not an existing feature? Another option would be to have a checkbox or an option to select "send automatic responses" when creating the appointment, or upon selecting "out of office" as the "show as" status.3Views0likes0CommentsOutlook for Windows: Timelines, Benefits, and Feature Availability
Yes, some end-users either "love or just hate" New Outlook for Windows. However, it is here to stay (respectfully said), and I am here to help you with the transition. Microsoft has announced the next stage, Opt-Out Stage, dates for 2025 and 2026 for work and school accounts. I have created a video that discusses my perspective on "What's Ahead in 2025 and Why It Matters" for you and your organization. I also cover feature availability by status. Video: https://youtu.be/QJBf_FPyBKk Remember, for the free Outlook accounts, the transition starts in January 2025, when you can no longer return to Classic Outlook. I have a video playlist with tutorials if you are interested. 📹Video Playlist: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLz10kTfM1gnF3x6mcGVfMX-51urg9a1lt&si=jrzVMJ9ikh0RPY1U 📹Outlook Updates Playlist: New Outlook Updates - YouTube traccreation4e 10/10/2024Export file not updating on-disk size
I'm working to break down this 16G PST file into 4.5G chunks for DVD backup. Following the instructions from a previous post [1] I created a new Export file, opened it in Outlook, and drag-and-dropped selections of messages onto this opened Archive. I ended up with one file with 6.6G. Evidently it contains only 2019 and 2023 dated messages. Ok, not ideal, but that's what backups are about. My plan was to duplicate this file, then rename one 2019 and the other 2023. Which I did. Next, I deleted the 2023 dated messages from 2019 file, and all of the 2019 messages from 2023 file. The result was the 2019 file was reduced in size to 0.8G, but the 2023 file has not updated it's size. I expected it to drop to ~ 5.8G, but it's not changed since this morning. I've closed the archive file. I've restarted Outlook. I made sure the 2019 files were deleted from the Deleted Items folder. And the folder in question, Sent Items, only lists the expected 2023 dated messages. Didn't budge a kilobyte. How can I make this archive update it's size? It is my understanding that tasks scheduled in To Do will appear in my Mac Outlook calendar and/or the "My Day" or as Mac users have "Day" tab next to your mail or calendar app. Every time I schedule a task, it does not show up in my calendar at all. I have tried everything I have read online and still not gotten anything to work - including syncing the apps. Can scheduled tasks be viewed on outlook calendar? Is this one of the many glitches in Microsoft's recent Mac updates? Please help.16Views0likes0CommentsTrouble Updating Password
Making note of a very frustrating issue I've been dealing with for, as best as I can recall, at least a year. I flag my account to force a password update every 72 days. On the magical day, and I'm not sure why, but everything falls apart. Today, I experienced this and want to outline the scenario. Tried signing into outlook web via Chrome on a PC and was told I needed to update my password. Type the new password twice (top box and lower box) and was told "The new password must be different from the old password." I can assure you, this password was not only different than my old password, it was also different than any password I've ever used before. With this, I am unable to update my password. I tried resetting from a different device in Chrome and received the same message and error. Back on the PC, I tried the process in Edge and had the same issue - was told "The new password must be different from the old password." Tried using the "Forgot Password" option (although I knew my existing (or old) password) and was told to enter my 2FA code. I entered that and was told "There is a temporary disruption in this service. Please try again later." All the while, my phone is still pulling in emails and OneDrive claims to be connected. Killed Phone Link, killed OneDrive, tested again and still was unable to update my password. In the end, I had to use the "Forgot Password" option and click "Use Other Method" to bypass 2FA and use my backup email to receive the code. I make mention of this because I've been having this issue, every 72 days, for a long time now and, when I search for a solution, I find other posts about this that are years old. I do believe this is a bug in the setting for having the system force us to update our password every 72 days. Moving forward, my plan is to set a recurring reminder to reset the password every 90 days or so and bypass this 72 day "feature" for my MSFT account. Just providing the details of the issue and my workaround in case this helps someone else and helps to bring the issue to the attention of those on the inside in case a solution can be developed down the road. This morning I noticed I had a few emails missing from my New Outlook Inbox. I knew the emails had be sent and should be populated in my email Inbox. Ultimately, I switched back to Classic Outlook and the emails were available (in the Classic Outlook inbox). Are there any other reports of this type of behavior with New Outlook?65Views0likes0CommentsUnable to view email on the web/app
Anytime I try to access my email I get a "Your request can't be completed right now" message. I can sign in but I am unable to view any messages. I am also unable to send. This has been on going since Thanksgiving. I have tried multiple browsers (safari and chrome) on my Mac and even tried with my iPhone. I even tired the iPhone app and can still not view any messages. From what I am reading this is a common error over the weekend but I am unable to find any support. Can someone please fix Outlook?53Views0likes2CommentsUsing Categories on Outlook for Mac
